I got all the symthoms of heart problem (chest pain, shortnesss of breathe, pain in arms, jaws, and nect). I highly suspect that I got a heart problem but it's at the early stage. I did blood test, EKG, and x-ray, they were all normal. I'm gonna do a stress test in the next few days but I think it will be normal as well. What other tests can I do to confirm that I may be at the early stage of heart problem?

My triglycerides are 490. I don't have high cholesterol......but I've been drinking like a fish. The doc wants to put me on meds, but I thought not drinking was a better idea (2wks no alcohol so far). What should I do? ALSO.....if I am put on meds for high triglycerides, does that mess up my chances of getting health insurance?

I'm filling out a family health history form for my doctor and it's asking if anyone in my family has had coronary or congenital heart disease. I know my mom has heart disease but I don't know which kind it is. One of the arteries to her heart was becoming blocked and they had to put a stent in that artery to open it back up - it's called angioplasty. Is that coronary or congenital? Thanks.

Just lately I have been getting a lot of heart palpatations. They aren't there all the time, but they come and go oftern. Also, I can get breathless fairly easy and when I wake up in the morning, I am always soaked because I have sweated like crazy through the night! Do you think these are all related to one thing? Does anyone know what may be wrong? Thanks.

For about the past week and a half it seems like my heart is beating really fast. There are times of the day when it is really evident and then other times where I can only tell if I think about it.
It is worse at night right when I lie down to go to sleep.
I am pretty sure I don't intake too much caffiene because I don't drink coffee or soda.
I am only 20 and unsure what this is. I am also taking medication for hypothyroidism. Any ideas?

I recognize that I have an engineering background and may look at things over simplistically. It is easy to figure out that if you use tape that sticks to the epidermis stronger that the epidermis adheres to the dermis that more than just tape comes off when you pull it.

After a painful and bloody round of “ tape” removal the nurse said to use mineral oil to get the tape residue off. All I ended up with was greasy sores. Do these people get some kind of sick joy out of this????? It is their way of getting even????? Darn it hurts. I’ve talked to more than one person who has scars from it.

Anybody else have this problem?

PS – don’t use acetone to cut the goo - I’m lucky my defibrillator didn’t ignite the fumes.

Omacor® is a new medication that consists of a high concentration of highly purified omega-3 fatty acid ethyl esters. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration in November 2004, this new drug is used to treat hypertriglyceridemia and is meant to serve as an adjunctive therapy in addition to healthy eating habits, and the control of heart disease risk factors, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol levels. Hypertriglyceridemia is a condition in which triglyceride levels exceed 500 mg/dL and could be a precursor to serious heart disease if not properly addressed. This medication, which is manufactured by Pronova Biocare and Reliant Pharmaceuticals, was released on the US market in the fall of 2005.

Hi,
Im 22 male, 74kg, 180cm height. Sometime about last year, I went for a general medical screening and had a chol. level of 240.
