Low blood pressure is better than having high blood pressure. Long term high blood pressure contributes to hypertension and damages the heart in the long run.
Blood pressure is self explanatory. this is the pressure in the circulatory system that keeps the body running. What is your blood pressure reading. If its to low it can be harmfull.

Medical guidelines state that a normal blood pressure for most adults is less than 120/80 mm Hg. Drug treatment is recommended if your blood pressure is at or above 140/90 mm Hg. For people with diabetes or chronic kidney disease, drug treatment is recommended for a blood pressure level of 130/80 mm Hg or higher.1

Lowering your blood pressure to less than 140/90 to 120/80 mm Hg or below may help prevent other serious health problems.**

How can you tell if you have high blood pressure?
Some people think the symptoms of high blood pressure are frequent headaches and dizziness. And although you may feel these things, the truth is that most people with high blood pressure have no symptoms. That's why it is important to monitor your blood pressure regularly. If you know your blood pressure is too high, you can do something about it.

Are your blood pressure readings too high?
If your doctor says you have a high blood pressure reading the first time, don't panic. Blood pressure can vary due to exercise or your body's response to the environment (e.g., temperature, stress). It is possible for blood pressure to be higher at the doctor's office due to anxiety and tension. This is commonly called "white coat syndrome." So it is important to know your regular, relaxed blood pressure by measuring it daily at home.
.

Ranges for the four blood pressure categories
Category Systolic
(mm Hg) Diastolic
(mm Hg) Blood Pressure Reading
(mm Hg)
Normal** below 120 and below 80 below 120/80
Pre-hypertension 120-139 or 80-89 120/80 - 139/89
Stage 1 High Blood Pressure (hypertension) 140-159 or 90-99 140/90 - 159/99
Stage 2 High Blood Pressure (hypertension) 160+ or 100 + 160/100 +

Note: Blood pressure that is too low can be dangerous.

What can you do to lower your blood pressure?
For many people, exercise and making healthier food choices are helpful, but not enough to get them into the BP Success Zone (less than 140/90 to 120/80 mm Hg or below).# There are many different blood pressure medications that can help.

Blood pressure is the amount of force that the blood in your body puts on your arteries and veins as it flows through them.

It's measured in two numbers (diastolic and systolic). The top number is the pressure inside the blood vessels at the time that your heart is beating.

The bottom number is the pressure inside the blood vessels when your heart is resting (in between beats).

Having low blood pressure can be as dangerous as having high blood pressure -- it can result in dizziness and fainting. High blood pressure can cause headaches -- in the long-term, I'd say that higher is worse -- it increases your risk of arteriosclerosis (hardening of blood vessels), congestive heart failure, and heart attack.
