I am Type II Diabetic. Supposing I overeat, it doesn't matter, what my blood sugar has gone too high as a result. Other than extra medication which I won't do if it is not prescribed ,is there anything I can do to help lower it to a better level? Don't say don't overeat because let's face it, everyone does it once in awhile!

I read some information that I'm not sure if I interpreted correctly. I'm under the impression that diabetes can be caused by eating too many foods high on the glycemic load scale like sugar and white flour and "overworking" your organs that deal with regulating blood sugar levels. Is this true or what?

I said that they would have to have some sort of safeguard i.e. 12,24 months of proven control. Otherwise if she had a hypo mid air, people could sue the airline. I know they are not allowed to discriminate but maybe as a safety issue they would not employ her. If anyone works for an airline and knows the answer to this i would be really grateful.

Diabetes runs in both sides of my family, especially my mother's. My grandmother and all of her 7 siblings were diabetic. I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how I could avoid setting off my gene? Cutting back (or off) sweets is a given, but any other suggestions?
