I recently turned 50 and went to the doctor for a routine physical. I'm a very healthy vegetarian. In fact, my last doctor visit was when I had a routine physical when I turned 45. I had not been to any doctor for anything for the past 5 years. I never get sick and don't take any pills (other than vitamins). I'm told I need a colonoscopy, but I'm skeptical of our medical establishment. I have health insurance, but I still don't think it's necessary for "everyone". I think doctors recommend them for everyone for two reasons: for the money, and so they don't get sued by the lawyers that chase doctors. I don't want to have it, so can anyone give me a good reason not to?

I just had a blood test. The blood test show low WBC (3.7), RBC (3.87) and high Lymph (50.2%). Meanwhile I got a urine test. The urine test show high WBC (73) and high leukocyte esterase 3+. What the results tell me? My doctor left me a phone message said that my test result is normal. But it is not normal from my point of view. I appreciate if anyone could tell me what the possible reason may be for this and what I should do about it. I had taken radiation contrast when I went through a CT scan several years ago. I am worried this is cancer related symptom.

With thanks in advance.

I know every case is different. I know there is no way to really know. What I am looking for here are averages. What is the AVERAGE length of time once diagnosed with stage 4. With Chemo, how long, and without chemo, how long?

I've been plagued with Rectal bleeding over 1 month. Finally got up the nerve to go see doc, and he scheduled me for colonoscopy. Won't know result of that until 11/14. Who wants to wait that long? My hair is growing like crazy, and I've lost 20lbs since 3/2007.

Are there any other physical symptoms associated with colon cancer? There are no changes in bowel habits. Do I have reason to worry?

Nicorette is a nicotine replacement remedy. But has it been shown that it can potentially be carcinogenic? I can't find any info on the packaging.

My friend passed away from stomach cancer. Here are just a few things I know he ate lots of:

1. Lots of red and white wine, I mean LOTS! He was a big wine lover;

2. Lots of cheeses;
3. He grew his own vegetables;
4. Lots of salami;
5. Lots of pastas;
6. Lots of pate;
7. He raised his own farm animals and would eat them > Chickens, turkeys, geese.

Anybody know if his diet had anything to do with it?

Okay, those that have/had breast cancer, which of the 18 risks shown here - http://www.newstarget.com/022157.html - did you expose yourself to? Please elaborate on amount and frequency. I'm looking for causes to breast cancer in particular. Or, if you have another good reason why you think you may have gotten it, please share. Also, how did you find out you had the cancer and how did you try to treat it?

Just over a week ago I found a lump in my right breast, I went to the doctor and she sent me for a mammogram and an ultrasound. The mammo showed a very dense area in the area of concern, the ultrasound was normal. There is quite obviously a palpable lump so my doctor has refered me to a specialist for a biopsy.
I usually trust my gut instincts in this kind of situation, I am telling my family that everything is ok and the test will show that the lump is benign, but deep down I have this nagging feeling that this could be bad. I think when I'm telling them that all is ok I'm trying to convince myself allso.
I thought mammograms and ultrasound would show if it was cancer, has anyone else been through this ? Should I trust my instincts I am really terrified ( even though I am putting on a big "I am fine" show for the family)
I am only 28 and I have 3 kids that were breast fed, this should go in my favor right?
I would apreciate any advise on this topic.
Thanks

Should I confront future mother in law that we all think that is most likely hiding a sickness like cancer. I know she is hiding it because her son is getting married in the next couple of months. She has been very sick lately and tells us that shes not telling us whats going on with her but she will most likely be ok. I feel horrible for my fiance because he doesnt have a father and he said im not going to have any parents if my mom dies. ps... she refuses to go to another doctor because she doesnt want to hear the news, she thinks its going to be horrible.

Okay, vitamin b-17, known as laetrile will prevent you from ever getting cancer if taken 7 times a day. Why in studies have patients never developed cancer while taking vitamin b-17, namely apricot seeds. http://www.1cure4cancer.com/ - also why would the FDA ban laetrile, and even raw apricot seeds if they did nothing? BECAUSE THEY CANNOT COPYRIGHT IT, AND IF PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO USE THIS TO GET RID OF CANCER, THEY WILL LOSE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS A YEAR. The FDA is run by the big pharma which wants money, and any tests run by doctors to assure this works, will be shut down and hidden. When the B17 comes into contact with cancer cells, there is no Rhodanese to break it down and neutrelise it but instead, only the enzyme Beta-Gucosidase is present in very large quantities. When B17 and Beta-Glucosidase come into contact with each other, a chemical reaction occurs and the Hydrogen Cyanide and Benzaldehyde combines synergistically to produce a poison which destroys and kills the cancer cells.
