I found out I have ovarian cancer last year. Although my family visited me in the hospital and I recovered at my mother's home, no one mentions it. They don't ask me about my follow up tests, how I feel, my emotional state etc. If I bring it up there's an uncomfortable, silent moment until someone changes the subject. I understand it's them hiding in their comfort zone but I would have loved to have someone hold me when I was crying and screaming from fear. I feel that I have to have polite face on to keep them comfortable. My oncologist went back to Philly and I really feel alone now. Has anyone had this happen?

My grandmother came up to live with me and my family in June. Its now November and her health has declined so rapidly in the last couple weeks and she is now in a hospice program. Anyone who has had a dying loved one at their house would know how hard this is. If you have any advice, inspirational words/quotes it would be much appreciated by my family and I. Thank you.

she is on a 6 month course of chemo being given oxaliplatin and 5fu the side effects are pretty bad and having trouble falling asleep is a huge deal she also watches the clock all day thinking of when she will going to bed and when it comes close she gets really agitated she wont have a nap during the day when she needs to because she thinks if she does that she wont sleep at night. I desperately need some ideas and techniques she could use to help her fall asleep.

That the most that anyone could ask for is to be kept comfortable and for their life ot be prolonged for a short while. Is this true?

My Mom is dying. She has colon/rectal and breast cancer. We brought her to Jackson, MS to get lifesaving treatment. We have been staying in a hotel for 2 months for her to get followup treatment and are running out of money for a room. Does anyone know of a hotel chain that gives free rooms to cancer patients who are receiving care away from home. Please help me because if we leave from here, she will not get the treatmen she needs. Thanks.

ok, read my last question, and now...... its not a zit its much bigger, and its like a rolling ball connected to the muscle of my chin. i was trying to feel around it and look in the mirror and to my surprise i found two more smaller ones deeper . im kinda scared cause both sides of my family have a history of cancer and one of those cancers is lymphoma. and i cannot stress enough.... its not an ingrown hair zit or anything like that. it is a spherical semi solid object deep in the skin of my chin right before the back of the jaw curves up towards the ears

Have been sick for a few months. Bleeding rectally and vaginally. Drs are being secretive. Had colonoscopy, lower GI followed by UGI, small bowel series today. What does cancer look like on an xray? Is it gray with lines, all white, or dark? Any websites that anyone knows to research this myself? Im getting frustrated. Thank you for all the help...to everyone that has answered my questions.

Will chemotherapy make you fingernails stop growing too since its slows fast growing processes (hair)?

i know i posted a question a few days ago about this but i REALLY need some help. i have already been to the docs and they pretty much sent me to some other doctors that im pretty sure wont help much. (mental doctor of some kind and a gastrointologist) im about ready to give up life cuz i am getting so tired of always feeling sick at school and almost passing out. so i think it might be bone cancer:
-Leg cramps at night sometimes
- a lump about 4 inches above my ankle
-my legs always feel like they are going to give out on me.
-some symptoms of anemia

other symptoms i have are
-shortness of breath (hard to breathe)
-throat tightness
-nausea (im not really sure it is nausea i just always feel like im gonna be sick)
-cold hands and feet
so im thinking bone cancer but if anyone else can help me out that would be soooooooooooooo great. im to the point where i think it is not worth it to live anymore and i can barely make it through the day without calling my mom to get me

Alright, I just recently got news that one of my friends, one of my friends, was diagnosed yesterday with leukemia. He was one of my most trusted friends, and I was surprised to hear that he had leukemia. But fortunately, it was diagnosed early, so they're bringing him to St. Jude's in Tennessee. I hope he and his family stay strong and get through this fine. I'm pretty sure about this, but I want to confirm this.

Is leukemia treatable and curable if diagnosed early enough?

My 12 yr old sister has papillary carcinoma (thyroid cancer), she had a complete thyroidectomy followed by radioactive Iodine 131 treatment. Then she had a PET scan which showed 3 metastases (spots) in her lungs where the cancer has spread. This is supposed to be considered the most curable cancer.....but is it still curable at this point? the spots measure less than 0.5cm...if this helps.....please anything you can tell me would be helpful....
