It's not really growing, it's dividing. So they don't need fuel, in that sense.

the same things any other cell uses. Cancer isn't a virus or outside pathogen, it is your own cells that have grown out of control or in a way that is not normal. Breast cancer is still breast cells, just a neoplasm.

They are hypermetabolic and use more energy then other cells. That is why they light up on a PET scan. They uptake sugar with radioactive tracers faster then normal cells, making them stand out.

Sugar is like a cancer fertilizer. My cancer also loves female hormones, so I've had a hysterectomy to starve the beasties out.

Its the same stuff that makes the rest of your tissues survive. Cancer cells are just cells - not normal cells, but cells nevertheless
