Allergies

For years now, my boyfriend has been waking up with headaches and backed up sinuses. He's done everything from antibiotics (for a possible infection) to electrode therapy. Each works for a few days, but he then feels worse afterwards. Last Friday he went to another doctor at my insistance because allergy season is coming and he's already feeling the effects of it. The doc prescribed him Nasacort, Singulair, and Allegra-D. He is also supposed to irrigate his sinuses with a mixture of salt & baking soda which he hates. Anyway, last night he did the irrigation and stringy black mucus came out.
What is this? And is it a good sign that things will get better for him? The doctor said his sinuses were some of the worst he has seen (completely closed off in some areas) and that when he starts to irrigate after awhile he'll start to get all of the old stuff that may have been up there for years.
He's just worried about what it may be... so please give me some insight. Thank you!

My patient complains about his "unable to read with comfort eyes" because his eyes get pain. I watched the inside of the lids, tested the lid's cells: he has allergy due to the weather. Does Patanol do more than just relieve the allergy?

so my question is.. everytime i drink alcohol i get all red like really red instantly i get hot and then sleepy only after like half a beer!!! it sucks cuz i like being drunk but i pass out so soon what can i do? i heard you can take zantac 75 and pepcid ac or something to make up for the enzymes im lacking.. i heard asains are allergic to alcohol because we lack the enzymes to break down alcohol.. so what will help?

i already know not drinking is an option but its not the answer im looking for...

I smoked for.. about a year with no problem.. But ately if i smoke or go around smoke i get extremely like disorientated and lightheaded... which lasts for like quite literally a month.. but t gets worse if i smoke or am around smoke..
I dont know if my body is now just rejecting it or if im actually allergic to it. Help?

We have a 2 year old German Shepard . She is on frontline , but she scratches and itches and bites herself constantly. Her hair is falling out , ( I am guessing from scratching so much) her skin is very dry and scaley, and she has a horrible odor to her. Not a regular dog odor, I mean aweful odor coming from her skin.We have invested in about 10 differant itch relief, moisturising, and odor shampoo's. None worked. We took her to the vet, they tested her skin and said she had mange, in the next breath, they said she didn't, but sent us home with more shampoo and capsules, and said if that didn't work to bring her in and they would do an allergy test for $800. Well the shampoo's and capsules didn't work either. Any other suggestions on what this could be and is $800 a little much for an allergy test?

I have never been allergic to anything, even cats and dogs, but where ever I touch my guinea pig when I hold her, my skin turns red and little white bumps breakout, and it itches, but it goes away after about an hour or so. I give her regular baths and she has a wire cage floor with plastic interlocking cage floor mats from PetSmart, and I'm not allergic to plastic, so it can't have anything to do with the bedding. I'm allergic right.

I take meds for migraines sometimes/most likely caused by allergies, been to allergist which was a bust, family doc has given me singular as a last resort (I've tried all the others so please be Singulair specific). I'm primarily worried about the possible side effect of "headache" since I'm prone to them and I haven't found anything specific to that on the web. Thanks!

Hello, I am in Central Florida, and suffer from Seasonal allergy every Spring, between Feb to April. This year got me so bad, I was put on 8 medications since it has escalated to Sinus Infection, took me 5 weeks to get rid of it, and now back to allergy. Anyways, I MUST run out door for sports activity I do. Treadmill does not do the job for me. In this case, what time of the day is the best time for me to run out side? and what time of the day I should avoid going out side, or running out side?
