Does the cleanser have alcohol in it? I think your body may just be in shock. It takes a couple of days for your body to calm down after a piercing, speacifcally facial ones. Don't use the cleaser anymore, just boiled (then cooled to just above warm) salted water on it for a few days. Any more problems, go back to your piercer. they by law need to know what they're talking about (in theory, I've had a couple of idiot piecers in my time...)
Don't use anything on the piercing, except the hot slat water for a few days. it'll eventually calm down. if not, go to pierecer. if no help there, go to dr. (although all they say is take it out & use antibiotics, which doesn;t really work) The jis of it is, if it hurts after a week, take it out. It takes a couple of days to calm down. You said you had it done today? well, what happens is you get home, lose the adrenalin, & your body reacts, sometimes badly. like is said, give it a few days, use the hot salt water, it'll all be ok...
hope it turns out ok.

The piercing is basically a sensitive open wound. I would not use anything I would not pour on a cut anywhere near it.
It's not an allergic reaction - the cleanser is for external use only.
I would use only clean water (or saline solution) around your mouth area for the next 2 weeks while the piercing heals a little. Basically everything you put near it that is not a sterile solution will lead to a bad and painful reaction.
Cleanse your forehead and cheeks as normal though - they should be fine as long as you keep away from your lips.

Yes you could have had a reaction to the metal in the piercing, sorry but i think it may have to come out!
Unless, perhaps you ate something you've never had before?

I suggest you see a doctor as soon as possible.
You may need a course of antibiotics to clear an infection.
Good luck.

Get rid of the metal you decided to decorate your lip with and refrain in the future from piercing your body, you are beautiful without all these metallic additions.
