Absolutely! Just get some Lactaid pills, they have generics too, and take a couple before you have anything dairy. You'll feel better and not have anymore stomach problems with dairy. Keep some with you all the time, because you never know when you'll be eating something with dairy.
Lactaid also has a brand of milk and dairy products, see if they have them at your local grocer, and buy that brand. It's a bit more expensive, but it's going to stop you from being sick, and proverbially "pays for itself".

Absolutely. Symptoms are gas and diarhea after drinking. I grew up on a farm and drank huge quantities of milk with no problems. But for the last 5 or 6 years I've had to switch to lactose free milk which can be found in most grocery stores. With the lactose free milk I can drink as much as I want without trouble. Just have to go easy on the Ice Cream.

yes I have a dairy intolerance and the dr years ago (like 20) who diagnosed me said if I did not quit eating and drinking so much dairy that my liver could rupture and I could die. I do not believe that one bit but still I had to cut back (felt like a death sentence). I learned how much I can handle. Yes, adults can develop an allergy to dairy. My suggestion is to lay off all dairy for 1 week as a test run and see if anything is different. If it is then start to alter your diet, as in skim milk (skim don't bother me), yogurt is supposed to help with the intolerance is what I heard and it does not bother me either. But you have to try what is best for you. This is only a suggestion and the best thing to do is go see a dr about it first if you can. I hope all turns out ok

When i was 25 i all of a sudden couldnt drink milk (it made me puke) i cant even consume the lactose free thinks (like milk yoghurt sour cream) because you can also have an allergy to the protein Casin. So in short yes you can become intolerant as an adult

I feel the same way too. I hear as we get older we can't process all the vitamins in the milk as we once did as kids.
