no that would not kill them . if you mean bedspread as in sheets wash them in hot water. you can spray your mattress with Lysol and you could put a plastic sealed cover on it .
vacuum it as well another thing to do to kill the dust mites is to put the mattress outside in the winter for a day let it freeze.
you can also use a steam cleaner with enzymes in the mix to kill the mites

It won't kill them, although there are some who say that it will help keep them from excessively reproducing. The best way to reduce dustmites in a bedroom is to get rid of the wall-to-wall carpeting.

Also, when you replace your mattress, don't buy a pillow top. Instead, get a 2 or 3 inch thick 'memory foam'. The mites don't penetrate and it provides a more comfortable padding for the mattress than does a pillow top.

There sure is: Wash your bedding in HOT water, once a week. There are millions of dust mites and they reproduce quickly so you have to wash your bedding frequently. They also have dust mite bedding that doesn't allow you to have contact with the dust mites.

Having as little humidity in your room as possible is a big help, too. Also, you can freeze them too. But heat is more accessible and easier to do!

Good luck!
