The conventional approach to allergies tells us to avoid all foods to which the body has an unfavourable reaction. Is it possible, instead of avoiding those foods, to gradually overcome the effects those foods have?

In my own case, I developed allergies to eggs and cheese going from childhood to adulthood. It's pretty annoying as they are useful and relatively inexpensive sources of protein compared to the cost of meat and fish.

It may be a kind of allergy. Due to blockage of one nostril, I cannot do pranayama (breathing exercise). Nostrils change frequently. Side effects are: frequent use of hand-kerchiefs for cleaning fluid coming from nostril, dullness of mind, slight chest pain. Also suffering from dandruff.

I've tried loads of different pills, sprays, eye drops etc, but nothing seems to work very well.
I'm open to herbal remedy suggestions too.

We don't have this history in the family. But on my current situation, I am exposed to the furs/hairs of this feline. I have this coughing feeling in my chest and now I'm worried.

1) Would it be possible?
2) What do I do to minimize, if not avoid this risk? I'm stuck in this place, so I can't move out for a while.
3) I need advice. Please help.

Thank you!

I have suffered the worst this year since 1999 and I can hardly sleep at nights. I am doing my A levels and it is a nightmare! I have tried EVERYTHING! I take piriton, zirtek, anti-hayfever tablets, doctor-prescribed anti-histamines, I bought a very expensive air filter, hold a cloth over my mouth, wash my face all the time, got steroid injection which hurt like hell but didn't have any effect whatsoever... I'm in despair! It is making my life unbearable.... my eyes are swollen and itchy, my nose red, I feel sick and find it hard to breathe at night, and my throat is constantly itchy and I have scratched it with my tongue so much it is inflamed and I still scratch it in my sleep. I just don't know what do do... I feel it is affecting my performance in my exams....

At Nine years old, I found out I was allergic to garlic. Doctors I went to could not figure out why my body rejected garlic. When garlic hits my system it acts as a spong, I become dehydrated, weak, light headed and very ill. I will get sick (vomit) till my body gets rid of every bit of garlic that is in my system. Yes, it is a burden sometimes. Most of my favorite foods has garlic in them. When grocery shopping, I have to check on the labels of different foods (ingredients) to make sure there is no garlic substances otherwise I may have to face the consequences and end up in the hospital. Other reactions are, fever, hot sweats, chills. It can take up to 2 weeks before my body fully recovers. I have studied other web sites (Allergies to Garlic) and viewed other people's reactions. Not one- experienced the same symptoms as me. What do you make of this? { My Family jokes with me and calls me a Vampire....LOL Which is quite amusing.} Do you know anyone who has these same reactions?

I am allergic to EVERYTHING!!! I break out when I come in contact with lotion, shampoo, soap, tears, sweat, plants, shellfish, or when I get sunburned. I was fine until a few years ago when they started developing.
