The shots are no big deal, given in the muscle of the upper arm. The shots can be very helpful if you have really bad allergies and are willing to put in the time and expense necessary to make taking the shots worthwhile. If your allergies are not real bad then consider other treatment options since allergy shots have to be taken for an extended time to really get the full benefits.

I had allergy shots for 5 years and I cannot say enough about how much they helped my symptoms. The shots are usually given in your upper arm and the needles are nice and small. You will often have to sit in the waiting area for 20 minutes to make sure you don't have an adverse reaction, so bring a magazine.

As for side effects, I was in the vast minority and would get a red lump around the site. I've been told this isn't uncommon for the first month or two of shots, but I had it for pretty much the whole run of my treatment. The good news is that they fade pretty quickly and that it wasn't an "every single time" thing.

Hmmmm allergy shots? Yea I got them and they felt like nothing really and I have very bad allergies. :p Anyway what kind if shots? The ones like two by three needles? Those are used to test what kind of allergies you have. The doctor just puts it between the wrist and normal place of were you get normal shots and rubes it in. AND the allergies shot that help the allergies go away its not bad at all anyways its good for you! :) Just ignore the needle and relax, if you cant.....stare at the wall until its over!

I had weekly shots for asthma when I was young. They were given in my upper arm. If your doctor is gentle, it's virtually painless.
