The skin pricks and the needle ones?

Also, what are allergy shots like?

they prick your skin with specimens they think you are allergic to. the pricking does not hurt it just feels like you poked yourself with a little needle, then you wait twenty minutes and see if rashes develop anywhere on your skin, if your skin itches and rashes appear then you are allergic to that specimen.

i've never taken an allergy shot, but i hear that once you start you have to take them every week for a long period of time.

It's not that bad. It also depens how you handle pain. First, they will put little drops of oil of the thing that they are trying to test. (Hold still!) Then, lightly, they will prick you with a not-sharp needle (so the stuff actually goes in). They do the poking to see how you skin will react to the thing to see if you are allergic. Don't be scared, because in the long run, knowing what you are allergic to will save your life!
