I'm 18 years old, and have been having chest pains for the past three years. It's not in one particular place, I have it mostly on the left side, and the middle, and sometimes radiates to the right side. Everytime I go to the doctor they say everythings fine which includes: the heart, lungs, breathing, etc. I always have trouble breathing when the chest pain occurs. The pain has gradually gotten worse, both in the amount of occurences, and the intensity on a scale of 1 to 10 ten being the most severe I would rate the pain as an 8 or 9. When I was around 13 or 14 years old a speacialst had sent me to a pediatric cardiologist to see if I could take some medicine. While there I had an EKG done, and the results said that one side of the heart is slower than the other and I think that's my right side, and that a normal heartbeat beats in the following order chamber 1, 2, 3, and 4. Finally, in August of last year when I was 17 years old I had experienced all the signs of a heart attack.

My girlfriend of 3 months was always tired and is 34. I suggested that she go for a blood test and it came back that she has Herpes-Type 2. I am not sure what this means. We have oral sex. I met her on a gay dating site & she comes from a very good family. Do we continue to see one another or what is it you do. I have done some research & seems this is a very common thing & 45 million people have this. Yes, I do plan to go get tested. I Don't understand why it is so common & that most people have it? Do you continue the relationship if I don't have it? I would think so if it is so common among people.

ok..I am not too crazy about the american cancer society which is why i chose not to donate to any of the charities events sponsoring them. has anyone else felt this way, and what can you do rather than donating money to help out? I DO feel very bad for cancer people as i have had many friends who have been through it, and I know it is a sad thing. i just dont agree with the ACS. what real things can i do that will ensure getting closer to cancer patients being cured? it makes me sad that people are dying and suffering so much from this disease, but it has been over 50 years of them "researching" cancer, and I believe this is all a big scam. is it a hopeless cause or what?

I have a 'complicated medical history' as my many doctors say. The three main things I have to keep an eye on is my epilepsy - caused by a non-malignant brain tumor, my heart - dilated cardiomyopathy, and my kidneys and bladder are failing.
I sometimes have TIA, or mini-strokes as some people call them. My last one was last week. My home nurse/carer keeps regular obs each day, including my blood pressure, last night it went up to 199/135 my heart rate was 201bpm. My heart very often 'misses' a beat, but last night it was very irregular, it 'missed' several beats and then suddenly increased this showed up on the bp machine.
I am on the waiting list for a new heart, and today I feel okish. But my left arm is very numb and there is hardly any feeling in my fingers. Everytime I pick something up with my left hand I immediately drop it.

Should I be overly worried, or is this normal for someone in my condition.

Serious answers only please, thank you.

My dad has pneumonia. The Dr. gave him an antibiotic and sent him home and had him come back the next day for a chest CT scan. The following day the Dr. called and sent him to the hospital. At the hospital they did tests, told my dad his lungs looked horrible. They did not admit him, but they are having him follow up with a pulmonologist.

If his lungs looked horrible, why would they not treat him at the hospital? If it wasn't serious enough for him to be hospitalized why would they tell him his lungs looked bad and refer him to a specialist? If it wasn't serious why not just have him finish the antibiotics and follow up with his normal doctor?

Do you think they found something else on the ct scan and haven't told him yet? My dad had a 3 pack a day habit until 5 years ago. He started smoking at 10, stopped at 27 and started again at 37 and smoked until 60.

I'm kind of concerned.

I am 26 and overweight (not obese) and am currently exercising everyday to trim down again. Before I started this lifestyle I had a bloodtest which showed that my blood sugar is 90. I know 100+ is pre-diabetes but since my father and his mother both have diabetes (my father just takes medication no shots), I am prone to having it if I don't take care of my sugar levels. I personally want to lower it even more since it's cutting close to pre-diabetes. I exercise everyday now but what can I eat to lower my blood sugar...what foods should I avoid (other than soda and candy)

I have been informed that Madelaine has in fact Cat Eye Syndrome (details of which can be found on the net ) and this shows in the little girl's left eye. There are other symptoms of this disease including heart problems. I wonder therefore (maybe I'm speculating) but if the child was sedated - as am sure she must of been quite a handful since she's hyperactive - whether this could of been the cause of her death ?
I also wonder why this syndrome has not been mentioned at all. Photographs of the child with the 'eye defect' were shown but not an explanation.
