My girlfriend of 3 months was always tired and is 34. I suggested that she go for a blood test and it came back that she has Herpes-Type 2. I am not sure what this means. We have oral sex. I met her on a gay dating site & she comes from a very good family. Do we continue to see one another or what is it you do. I have done some research & seems this is a very common thing & 45 million people have this. Yes, I do plan to go get tested. I Don't understand why it is so common & that most people have it? Do you continue the relationship if I don't have it? I would think so if it is so common among people.

Hi
I have Herpes type 2, and I am also 34 yrs old! I caught it from my then fiance who gave me oral sex whilst he had a cold sore on his mouth! Thats how easy it is to get it!
You dont have to be 'dirty' or a 'drug' user to get it!
its a very common and easily transmitted disease, and unfortunatly kids these days do not understand how easy it is to transmit.
Herpes type 1 is when you get coldsores and blisters on your mouth. Quite a lot fo people have this and its very very common.
Herpes type 2 is when you get the blisters and sores on your genitals and is less common but just as easily transmitted.

If you have a coldsore on your mouth and give someone oral sex or ******* there is a very high chance that you will catch Herpes Smplex type 2. Its that simple.

However that all aside it is NOT a reason to give up on a decent and loving relationship. I ended up marrying my fiance, who incidently felt guilty about giving me herpes!
We are now married and very happy.

All you have to do is make sure when your girlfriend as an outbreak/..or sore on her genitals that you DONT have sex. That way you wont catch it. Once the sores have cleared up you are relativly safe to have sex again.

Dont give up on your girlfriend, if shes anything like me she probably wants a bit of support and not dumping!!!
She may have an outbreak once or twice a year...then once the virus settles down in the system only once every few years. it is a miserable disease to have but does not mean the end of your life or sexual life for sure! There are treatments you can take at the time of an outbreak and creams to put on the sores to make it better.

tell her to look after herself and take vitamins, a healthy immune system keeps outbreaks away...trust me!!
Just like codsores on your lips if you get run down you get a blisters come up..same with your genitals. if you are tired and run down, you will have an herpes out break. Tell her to look after herself, and you as her boyfriend..give her a BIG hug.
Its probably nother fault hun. its very common,

good luck

xx

I got diagnosed with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about five years back, whilst I was still in college and had a dumb one-night stand. I understand a lot of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/CgNQA everything improved.

Not only was I able to remove all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This system provided the chance to be happy and experience real love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.
