i went to my doctor and asked if i can get a cancer test because i m scared if i have it and he said that i dont need 1. why did he say that instead of just givin me 1?

In this day and age there's no excuse for having an unecessary pregnancy... There's so many method's of BC it's ridiculous.. I'm tired of ppl. "Oh my bf pulled out could I be pregnant..?" Or "we didn't use a condom, could I be pregnant?" just because you are on the pill doesn't mean that you can't get pregnant, especially if you aren't taking it properly if you are confused about your choice of BC you should be using a back-up birth control method (condom,VCF,Spermicide etc...) Also, if you have more than one sexual partner you also should be concerned with STD's that the "pill" doesn't protect against.. He should be wearing a condom and if he won't because they are "uncomfortable" so is peeing fire and an STD... Please ppl. be more responsible with yourselves....

My doctor told me she wont perscribe Valtrex for me unless I am having an outbreak. I havent had one in a while but i read somewhere that if you wait too long to take Valtrex it won't help you? Is this true?

How much information do I tell my 9 and 11 year old boys? When is the right time to tell them? before he gets really bad? Does Anyone Like Cranberry Juice?

I had a nerve block done for pelvic/abdominal pain, and now I can't feel those regions (which is good). However for about a week, I've noticed odd pains in my abdomen. It woke me up last night. It's all over, but it hurts more on the right side. I don't have a lot of money so if possible, I'd rather not go to the hospital, but could this really be appendicitis, and I just can't feel it because of the nerve block?

My brother lives in France and has prostate cancer, he has had it out, but the PSA just keeps rising not much but going up, it is now 3.6. he has been told he will have chemo and the scans are in preparartion for that. How can the PSA levels go up when there is no prostate? Now today they have found it has gone to the liver, the bones are still OK.

I am very worried, Daaddy died of leukaemia just three months after we married in 1967, My mother died of pancreatic cancer in Octoebr 2005 and now Chris. he is 63.

I do have faith, but very scared....

Any compassionate words that would help welcome and prayers.

My bad cholesterol was 40 points higher than what is reguarded as upper limit O.K.-(bad). My doctor is pushing a test that will ultimately cost me a month's wages. I'll stop the 'butter and eggs' thinking that in doing so will bring things back into balance.

multiple sclerosis, they say im showing signs of having it and my parents say that they are sure i have it. but nobody will tell me what it is, they just tell me that they want to make sure i have it before they get to worked up over it, but i would like to know what it is. im almost 16 so its not like im a young child. can any body tell me what multiple sclerosis is please? i would be ever so greatful!? thanks so much for any answers in advance.

I drink sometimes but never that much, there are two times i remember drinking more than usual, neither times did i get drunk or even close to it but after the first time i got a severe cold and a rash on the bottom of my face and i lost my voice, i thought i just caught a cold but i recently drank again, a little more than usual and i have a very sore throat and i am sortof losing my voice. So i am now thinking that it was not a coincidence and that maybe i have an alcohol allergy to a certain amount of alcohol...

I have 2 herniated disc & take Prednisone & get cortisone shots in my spine These medications are not long term & cycle as needed because of the sides. Some of my test came back real elevated. I went to the dr. due to knee pain and right finger joint pain. Bloodwork/xrays were done and my white count was 17. Blood was redone and white count was lower. Everyday I become fatigued and sleepy and have no strength by noon. Dr. said I had a viral infection but I'm not getting my energy back though I take vitamins and iron. I'm scheduled to see an orthopedic dr. for arthritis but need to get my energy back to normal. This came on quite suddenly. I don't want to seem like a hypochondriac. Professional advice is greatly appreciated.
