I went to the dr. due to knee pain and right finger joint pain. Bloodwork/xrays were done and my white count was 17. Blood was redone and white count was lower. Everyday I become fatigued and sleepy and have no strength by noon. Dr. said I had a viral infection but I'm not getting my energy back though I take vitamins and iron. I'm scheduled to see an orthopedic dr. for arthritis but need to get my energy back to normal. This came on quite suddenly. I don't want to seem like a hypochondriac. Professional advice is greatly appreciated.

Go see a rheumatologist for the "arthritis" Did first doctor check your ANA levels? (anti-nuclear antibodies)? If that's high, you could have lupus, fibromyalgia, or rheumatoid arthritis (or some other, more obscure disease process). What kind of viral infection did you have and where was it located? Are you going to bed at a reasonable hour? Have trouble sleeping? Use alcohol or party drugs? Eating ok? Make your doctor explain things to you until you understand what s/he is saying. If s/he is unwilling to stop using medical jargon you're unfamiliar with, fire him/her!

I have all of the above. I have chronic fatigue syndrome, and fybromyalgia! Also rhumetoid arthritis. I have been put on everything under the sun, and all it does is make me more tired. What does the doctor say? I went on a super duper health food diet. Some things just stay the smae tho. Every individual is different, so try whatever works for you and also listen to the doctor. Wish I could be of more help, but knowing someone else is out there feeling the same, kinda sometimes is a relierf.

When your white blood blood cells are i means you have an infection usually treated with antibiotics.
As for the virus infection i can sight mine.In February got a virus in water work, treated with antibiotics, four weeks later
virus infection on lungs,in all i had six virus infection, twice ended up for a week in hospital, then five days in hospital.I am still getting over it as it knocks all your metabolic system out of whack and feeling like you do.Things will slowly get better for you, but sad to say it will take time.
Sorry to go on but my sympathy goes out to you.

How is your gut health? Many times when a person is experiencing these kinds of issues, the flora of the gut is not up to par.
