Dad is 70.. always been physically active his whole life.. plus, loves to socialize.. and yes, have the odd cocktail.. ok, question - he will be having 6 months of chemo treatments.. every 2 weeks..starting soon. He asked me this today.. would he be able to still exercise?.. I am no doctor, but I guess he was just curious....as I know people who have had cancer. I had no answer...as I understand ..some people get through chemo..relatively ok..and some have a real hard time. plus a side effect is that you tire out fast. Any input about this? He belongs to a exercise facility... and even after recovering from his colan surgery...has already started back to the gym..

Has anyone out there.. in this age group area.. continued or desired to.. exercise during chemo treatments?.. Any information..would be helpful. Also, Can a person enjoy the odd cocktail.. during this period or will that mix with the chemo medication?.Thanks..Chris

My upper arms are constantly red, and people always ask me why, which is really uncomfortable. Even my best friend asks, and I just can't take it anymore!

Lately I've been getting these red itchy spots all over my arms, and I know it isn't chicken pox, but I have no idea how to make them go away! Should I see a doctor?

Someone at work came into my office the other day with a swollen face. He told me 'it is a boil'.
I know what a staph infection looks like...and the next day, he had a band-aid over it, but you could see the pus bleeding through. --I'm sure it's a staph infection and he has not been to a doctor for it.

I think they're contagious and can the bacteria can live on surfaces for a long time. I have a small child and do not want to bring this bacteria home with me.

My question is:

How contagious is it??? I am worried people at work will catch it and cause a break-out at work. Should I tell my boss about it?

My small toe on my right foot is swollen and red. It doesn't hurt in the least when touched but just looks bad. Does the weather have anything to do with it? Because it is winter here. Please Help!

I'm Costa Rican and I've had genital herpes for 5 years, and I have been having outbreaks once a month at least, always when I have my period. My doctor prescribed Valtrex once a day, but since it is insainly expensive and I can not afford it, he changed it for Aciclovir every 8 hours for 7 days, and then after that Valtrex once a week...this is my second week, ...can it work once a week?

ill be going to the dermataologist next week to hopefully treat my acne and so that it goes away. im 17 right now and it started when i was like 14, but only on my face. then, when i was like 16 or so , i had it on my back and chest and shoulders. I dont have health insurance and thats why i took so long to search for help. i called and asked them how much it was for me to go and they said it was $90. My questions is, what is the dermatologist going to do? is he going to check blood? skin? what do you think he'll prescribed for my case on acne & scars ? also how expensive is retin-a or accutane?, Thanks.. :)

My sister has imflammatory breast cancer, she has finished her chemo and is having a double mastectomy Monday and her lymph nodes in her armpits removed. I can't be there with her but would like to send something. Has anyone gone through this? Is there something that would have made your recovery more comfortable?

I was drinking all night and had no sleep but anyways I gave this guy a bj and didn't have anything on my lip.. I didn't see anything on him either.. I didn't feel tingly or anything like that. When I woke up I still didn't really feel or see anything it was later that day that I felt it and saw it forming. Couldn't do anything about it thou.. too bad. So question is did he give it to me.. or did I give it to him even though there was no symptoms when I went down on him. And yes it was a very thurough bj and make out session... Oh and I have gotten it before, is there anyway that he could have gotten it from me even with no symptoms..

Hi, This morning I was in lots of pain (I have a slipped disc) and had run out of Tramadol, so took 2 Solpodol tablets with my anti-inflammatory pill. Ive neevr taken Solpodol before, but have taken co-proximal and co-codemal.

Almost straight away I had a severe stomach ache, and my hands began to burn and itch. Then my feet. It spread to my torso, legs and face within a few minutes, I felt as if Id fallen into a load of stinging nettles, it was very hot and itchy. Then I had trouble breathing, found it hard to swallow, and was sick.

I felt really unwell, it scared me a lot. Tonight I still dont feel right, kind of drained and weak, my skin is tender but not red and swollen any longer, and Im exhausted.

Was this because of the Solpodol? Could it have been the Diclofenic? (Im assuming it WAS a reaction to the tablets, I cant think what else it could be?) Has anyone else had this with these tablets?

My daughter's lung collapsed at birth and after three weeks was released from the NICU with no medications or machines. She was sounding very congested and her Dr. finally referred her to an ENT. That Dr. found that her adnoids were growing down into her throat which caused apnea. She is too young for surgery but her apnea monitor sounds often. A sleep study has confirmed that her saturation (blood oxygen) dropped below 70 % at times and put her on oxygen at home when she sleeps which is quite the challenge. Since then she has also been diagnosed with PDA and ASD Heart diseases; Anemia (even with iron suppliments); high platelet count; pulmonary hypertension. I'm at my witts end! I feel that I'm seeing all these different doctors and no one is putting the information together. They are all puzzled at how healthy she looks to have all of these things wrong. Is anyone in a simular situation or could shed some light on what could be going on? She is so precious. God bless!
