It certainly can leave scars but I would say that it is a good thing that you are trying to get it cleared up right now. The younger you are, the more resilient your skin is and the better chance it will have of not scarring. And you say that it isn't severe so that is good also. I think most of the time as long as it isn't that severe it will be less likely to scar. So work on getting it cleared up and don't worry too much about it!

Often the scarring comes from constant picking at the acne and the resulting scabs.
Most people don't understand the as soon as the body perceives it has been wounded it will begin to repair the damage. If you interrupt the process the body will become more aggressive in its repairs. This results in scars.
Another thing is bacteria. If the acne is not the result of a minor infection as soon as you open up the pimple you expose the wound to air and bacteria. You fingers if not clean and maybe even if they are clean can be an excellent source of bacteria to infect the wound.
These small infections can result in much more damage than the original acne.
So the less you intervene in the healing process without help from dermatologist the better the chance you will develop scars.
In most cased you will outgrow the problem.
My experience has been that if you wash your face at least twice a day with soap and water much of you problems will go away.
But now that you are under the care of a dermatologist ask him/her all the questions you can think of. But more import follow the advice you get from your doctor.

If you're not careful with it, yes it can. I have friends who have acne scars on their faces, and they're in their 20's.
I, however, had acne as a teen and I really don't have acne scars. Maybe one small mark or two, but that's normal for anyone.
I made sure that I washed my face morning and night, and I took care of my face. If my acne treatment wasn't working, i went back to the dermatologist and got him to give me something new. I also had overly oily skin, which unfortunately they can't do anything about, but oil doesn't scar, so it wasn't that big of a deal.
I'd say this : If you pop a pimple, keep the area clean and wash your face twice a day. I'm guessing that a lot of people with scars simply didn't use proper maintenance on their faces growing up. That's my guess - I could be wrong though.

Yes you can get scars. Don't pick or pop the spots and it won't be too bad.
I had acne all through my teenage years (across my back as well as on my face) and I have a few scars at my temples but you would only notice them if you were looking for them.
I'm now 27 and have not had any spots at all during my adult life.
Don't worry too much, your treatment will help and your acne probably go completely once you've finished growing.

Yes, acne can scar. It depends on how bad it is though. Like if it's a minor pimple it won't leave any marks. If it's a bigger one that looks a bit infected, it may tend to leave a mark after its gone. The marks fade away after about 2 or 3 years though. There is a special mask that can make marks go away completely after like 2 weeks use of it. It's called Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Acne Mark Fading Peel. It has CelluZyme in it so it makes the marks go away. It also clears acne while it clears your marks. I use it, It's GREAT.

Well there are some medicines which if used won't leave any scar like CIPROMAC - FC. This medicine is composed of Ciprofloxacin, Fluocinolone Acetonide & Clotrimazole Topical Cream. It is broad spectrum, Topical anti - fungal, anti - inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-pruritic. But I will suggest u to start using it side by side....not after u get scars.
Wish u good luck. Don't worry about looks too much because every person is a book and a book is best judged by its contents and not by its looks.

You shouldn't get scars if you leave them alone. If you pick and scratch and pop them yes, you'll most likely get scars. Try using topical treatments like Neutrogena. Once you get older, the acne should go away, but try to leave them alone for now.

yeah acne can totally leave scars especially if you pick at it. Because when you are picking pimples you are damaging dermis part of your skin and that heals by leaving a scar. Dont worry once your hormones stabilize the acne should get much better. If you dont want scard dont pop those pimples
