I have epilepsy and the meds I'm prescribed don't control my seizures. For some reason marijuana is the only thing that has stopped the grand mal seizures I am plagued with. I would like to know why in the **** it is ok for me to take Keppra; which can actually cause hallucinations, loss of coordination, severe muscle twitches, insomnia, psychotic episodes including suicide, and countless other side effects, yet I am not legally allowed to smoke a joint in my own home? WTF kind of shithole country is this?

A friend of mine has the problem, it was just diagnosed, and we live in Spain. Possibly there are some new treatments we haven't heard about.

I meet people online and in person who are poor and there seems to be no hope for them. They didn't go to school, got a lame job, then had more kids then they could afford to have. Then, they ask for handouts and say, "Oh, poor me, I am so poor and I have no food or money". Then, they take the handouts and they are in the same place they were before: No education. No money. Too many children to care for. And, then they get health problems too or their car breaks down or their house burns down. It may seem like bad luck but I just think these people are so STUPID. Here in the USA there are so many opportunities to be rich and successful!!! It just makes me sick how people can live like that!!! These people need to get off their big butts and go to college and get a good job and stop complaining and complaining and asking for handouts. Geez, it's annoying, don't you think????????????

Let me clarify....I am awaiting an appointment with a Cardiologist aslo. The Echo was done by my PCP and they called and said it looked good but I should still see a cardiologist, so I am still waiting for that appointment. I just got the results faxed to me and because Im impatient I just wanted to see if anybody out there could read them and tell me if the results mean more than "it looked good".

Here is the brief summary of the results on the report:

Impression:
1. Normal left and right ventricular systolic function ejection fraction 62%
2. Mild mitral and mild tricuspid regurgitation noted
3. All valves physiologically noted
4. Normal distolic function of left ventrical noted
5. No mass effusion or thrombosis noted

It actually all sounds good to me except number 2, but even that may be ok???

I guess I will be on to my next test to try and figure out my "issue"

These days were created for the chocolate industry. How do y'all deal with it? Do you just have an IV full of Humalog ready to go? Do you restrain yourselves? Do you go hog wild and say, "I've been good all year, but today all hell breaks loose and Hello Ketoacidosis?"
Your comments?

Are there any black women/girls suffering from an eating disorder - mainly anorexia? I'm just curious because as much as I hear about women and girls suffering from the disease, I rarely hear anything about black women suffering from it. Is it really that uncommon?

I was wondering if you're a black girl or woman, or even man, suffering from anorexia or bulimia (and you don't mind posting here) could you tell me what you think about the lack of awareness about it? Do you think there should be more said about other ethnicities suffering from the disease in addition to what we hear/know already?

If I'm misinformed, please tell me so with sources. It's just something I don't hear much about.

*my intent is not to make this into a race issue. hopefully, no one takes offense*
