If a person was date raped they should go to the hospital ASAP.

They can examine you and police officers might even be able to collect some type of DNA sample from the rapist (semen, a hair, saliva, etc).

They'll also want to give you a pregnancy test, and if the women chooses she can have them give her Plan B "the morning after pill" or several birth control pills (which is equivalent to Plan B).

The woman should definitely NOT take a shower or decline or refuse medical treatment. If she takes a shower it could wash away any DNA that she may have on her from the rapist. And, if she refuses medical help or waits too long to get medical help it may be to late to terminate an unwanted pregnancy or to get physical evidence against the rapist. It's possible for her to have bruises or scratches and if she waits to long, these heal and then there is no physical evidence that she was attacked. This can make it difficult to prove that she was attacked and raped if they find the rapist and try to bring him to court.

I can only imagine that this may be a time of confusion, doubt and fear for you. It would be for anyone in your position.
It is essential that you go to a Emergency Room. Not only because there is a possibility that you could be impregnated. Not only because you may have contracted a curable STD. Not only because you may not have a good case against your rapist without collecting evidence soon.
But if you can get to the hospital in less that three days there is a possibility that you avoid a STD that is not curable (HIV, Herpies, HVP, Hepatitis C). There are medications called anti-virals. They are given to medical workers that have been stuck by needles used on patients and Babies born to HIV mothers.
IT IS IMPORTANT YOU GET TO A HOSPITAL AND GE THESE DRUGS ASAP! Once the virus uncoats (depending ont he virus) and integrates into your body it is impossible to uproot and you will have to be treated for life. There is also a vaccine for the cancer causing strains of HPV. If you do contact these viruses, it does happen and it’s not the end of the world, but it changes your life and dreams a little.
I am not trying to scare you, god knows you have enough fear and stress on your shoulders right now, but you have to do what is best for you right now so you can work through this later. If you have enough strength to seek out help here, your strong enough to take this advice and seek out help at a hospital near you now.
As for the police, worry about yourself before you worry about anything else. Nothing else short of a death in the family should prevent you for seeking help TODAY! You have precious time left if any at all, 3 days is a approximation at best when if comes to viral infections.

Below if some information to read about after you go to the hospital. As well as some information to get in touch with help if you need it.

Stay strong hon, so I have been told it's a long road but there are many people out there who walk it too. Good Luck.

If you have any evidence you should call the police!!!If not there isn't much you can do legally...But there are other things you can do like if you have a picture of the guy print it out with Rapist underneath and spread the flyers around I am sure you have friends that could help you with this. There is another method which involves baseball bats and ski-masks,I won't elaborate on that one...But either way you need to tell someone and go to the doctors to make sure you don't have any stds.I feel for you and I know what it's like Best of luck...

Decide if you want to try to press charges --

if you do, go to the local emergency room if it's been less than three days since it happened (tell them you want to press charges), or if more than three days then see a physician or go to the emergency room AND contact the police in the jurisdiction it happened in

if you do not, see a physician in an office or the emergency room to discuss STD testing and birth control options as soon as possible, tell them that you are not seeking to press charges, but do want a medical evaluation

if you are on a college campus, the student health center should be able to help

if you can, tell a friend or relative, and have them go with you to the doctor or emergency room

good luck to you

Definately go to the police! I'd encourage you to press charges as well! This is illegal in every state!
