no i know lots of people who are HIV pos and they are doing so good that the doctor has told them that they would die from old age before they got to the AIDS stage.

Yes, it can. HIV can only be treated, not cured. So, no matter how well an infected person takes care of themselves and takes their medicine, until there is a cure, HIV will progress into AIDS.

Yes, in time it will. There is no cure for the virus. Medication can treat the symptoms and keep the viral load lower, longer than years ago. But the disease still marches on. People are living healthier, longer lives. But if you live long enough, it will go into AIDs.

With aggressive treatment of drug cocktails and healthy lifestyle, the virus can be held in check for many years. But eventually it will progress to full blown AIDS.

I have full-blown AIDS, and my doctor tells me that if I get on the meds he's prescribing within the next six months, then we'll be able to keep the disease in check.
