I have epilepsy and the meds I'm prescribed don't control my seizures. For some reason marijuana is the only thing that has stopped the grand mal seizures I am plagued with. I would like to know why in the **** it is ok for me to take Keppra; which can actually cause hallucinations, loss of coordination, severe muscle twitches, insomnia, psychotic episodes including suicide, and countless other side effects, yet I am not legally allowed to smoke a joint in my own home? WTF kind of shithole country is this?

Listen, if you don't like the laws, you get all your pothead friends together and petition your senators and representatives to change the laws. Also organize folks to vote against the politicians who made the laws or who refuse to change them.

Oh, that's too much work? It's just easier to complain? Or maybe there's just as many of us petitioning our senators and representatives to make the laws tougher?

Then, like the other person said, you have a right to move away! No one is forcing you to stay if your hate our laws so much.

Vote Libertarian.

In my view all personal behavior that does not cause one person to harm another or take another person's property, liberty or infringe on the pursuit of happiness should be infringed.

Drugs are just such an issue. I think marijuana is innocuous and should be decriminalized at very least and legalized at best to create standards and monitor it's production for purity and quality as we do with other drugs. The same holds true for cocaine and current societal bane methamphetamines.

The problem with the "WAR" on drugs it has created a class of criminals that are not infringing on other peoples liberty or wouldn't be if the drugs were legal.

We live in the best shithole in the world. We have the best opportunities to make our lives what we want it. Make sure your vote counts at the ballot box.
The Libertarian party save the effort to keep the muslim hoard at bay consistently meets my view of liberty in this "republic"..

That is a very simple answer! Because the Government can't tax the sale of Mary Jane. If they legalized it, everyone would grow it and use it. And so how would they tax it? That is why a beautiful woman like you can take all these harmful drugs, yet you are not aloud by law to smoke a joint! If you want to know more about this ask me and I will tell you!

Depends on which state you're in. I'm in California, I'm an AIDS patient, and I have a legal prescription for marijuana.
Go to
www.greenmedicinegroup.org for more info. And good luck!

And to Fyre, you need to excercise some compassion. Pray that YOU never end up with a chronic condition or disease that doesn't respond to the "legitimate" prescription poisons that the AMA insists on doping Americans up with. God put pot on this Earth for a reason, and that's to be used by people who need it.

good question...it's gotta be the social stigma associated with smoking...i understand about the prescription drugs...doesn't make much sense that Oxycontin, Xanax, Klonopin, Hydrocodone and Morphine are all legal through a doctor's script pad...but not marijuana...i know they have THC in pill form called Marinol that can be prescribed...haven't read too much about it though...hope your doctor can find another medication that alleviates or reduces your seizures with less physical discomfort!

they can't tax marijuana (it would be too much of a pain to make it a cash crop since so many people grow it on their own, unlike tobacco) so it's easier for them to make it illegal.

and that's something that pisses me off, people who tell people to leave or shut up because they question this nation? questioning the beliefs of this nation is the most American thing you can do, a true patriot would always question this nation, it's what this country was founded for. our ancestors died to protect our freedoms, including our freedom of speech, and to say nothing and go blindly with the crowd is one of the most treasonous acts you could perform as an American! leave? i gladly would if i thought the nation was filled with only people who followed like sheep and wanted those that dared to think otherwise to be silent or go.

sorry for the tangent, i get fired up sometimes.

Because our wonderful government doesn't make any money off of you if you smoke marijuana!!! If you take prescription meds you make all kinds of people rich. They really don't care if you turn into a zombie because of it......go figure.

Ask Willy Nelson, he seems to be having a hard time with that issue too.
