I am always keen to know and understand your opinions on a certain aspect of cancer having been through the pain and miseries of the same. How many of you - survivors or others feel we actually invite cancer into our lives with our life styles, denials and the scare of visiting the doctor to be told that one may have cancer? I know noone wants to invite cancer, but all of us do some real crazy things that helps cancer walk into our lives. We are all aware of the consequences of those crazy things, but we still do it imagining that cancer can never hit us. Its always the other person who is prone to get it. Its only when one lands up getting it these sort of questions arise.
I look forward to your answers as it would give me a great insight of what you all feel. I am supposed to give a talk at a cancer seminar on this topic and hence welcome your help. I have been lucky to get some great answers here and hope to receive replies from those who feel we do invite the cancer.

My daughter is 25 years old and just starting dating a man who is Hiv positive. He is 40 years old. She says she is old enough to make her one dicisions, but I can't help worrying about her future health. She says that he has lived with it for 20 years and can guarentee her that she will not get it. He was with his ex for 15 years and she has never gotten it. How do I handle this? Am I just a worried Mom or do I have something to really worry about?

A few days ago i got dysentery. I threw up a bit, got a short fever, and got diarrhea (im not gonna give ya details for your sake. =P). But worst of all is the stomach pain. Sometimes it hurts so much I feel like screaming. My uncle, who's a doctor who specializes in diseases like this, gave me these stomoch pills. He said to take two of them if my stomach really hurts. But other than that, what should I do to ease the pain?

waste rubbbish always end's up in land fills burried under ground. computers get shipped to china because of cheap labour + the chinese poverty struck areas have to ripp the computers apart with no protection or saftey from the toxins. I say we should send all waste in to the SUN as the waste approches it will evaporate in to gasses which the sun will consume or we could just let the earth die in our own rubbish. (another option is firing wast in to outer space but their is a chance it willo hit us someday.)

Would it have any effects on their health by now or would they have noticed long ago? How dangerous is it? My friend used to steal a golfball sized amount of the liquid mercury from the school lab and carry it around in her pockets - maybe she is not still alive!

Fibromyalgia is a disease that is so mistreated. There is a lot of evidence that Betsy Ross was striken by this diseasse. We fibromyalgians, have been humilated, embarassed and falsely accused because of our diagnosis. However, the F.D.A. has approved a drug just for our disease. Did you know that there is a medication for fibromyalgia the has been approved?
