The Gallbladder is a small sac located beneath the liver that stores bile (a digestive fluid/enzyme) that is released into the small intestine to metabolize lipids (fats) when passing through that portion of the alimentary canal. An individual can function quite well even without a gallbladder.

I agree with Gretchen.
Mine was removed five years ago and I can eat and do everything I want without any negative effect.
I wonder whether the gall bladder is necessary at all, like the appendix.
