Last week I started modeling a piece of "Sculpey" but as I was holding the base of my work-in-progress the material just started to melt in my hands. I had to use really hot water and dish soap to remove this sticky mess from my hands.
Also are you supposed to put your artwork on a "stand" so that you avoid touching it while you are working on it. If so, how do you keep the project from losing contact (and start wobbling on the stand) as you are applying force on the clay to shape it?
How do you use an aluminum mesh? Isn't clay going trough the openings and end up on the other side of the mesh?
Also I am planning a large project, but the clay I can get at the local art supply store is really small and expensive. Is there a place where I could buy in bulk non-toxic materials?
Thank you for your help

I have a pure vintage sewing machine, but it works completely fine. Just every few stiches it hits the throat plate to the right, and the needle breaks. Do I need to move the needle or the throat plate over? How do I do this?

Thank you!

Will a numismatist, or someone more experienced than I, please give me their honest opinion on which coin-grading service to use (NGC, ANACS, other?), whether to go through a dealer for help, etc?
I am not a coin collector, but apparently I have a 1999 Denver-mint Statehood coin (Connecticut) with a missing Clad Layer, missing on the state side not heads side.
I want to know how to guarantee I'll get my coin back if I send it in, and what if the appraised value is less than what I pay for this service? That's why I'm leaning toward going to a dealer, but will they be honest with me?
I do not have alot of money, it's going to take a while for me to afford a $30 fee to send it to NGC, and then is the dealer going to charge me too?
Thank you for any information you can give!

My grandmother, who is in her 70's, but in perfect health is in need of some fun hobbies that she can do at home. We live in WA, so it will be cold here soon, so nothing outside. She volunteers at the hospital, has joined a bowling league and goes to lunch with friend every week, but since she lost my grandfather (in a horible accident), she is bored at home. Any suggestons are very welcome. Thank you for your hep.
