I purchase a lot of Bali silver and today I wondered how much of it is actually silver? Does anybody know?

Bali silver is made in Bali. These are beads so they do not have a stamp on them. They are sold as sterling silver but surely have something else added.
Please tell me if you know the answer.

How much sterling silver is in Bali beads?

I want to say that bali is a kind of sterling named for it's place of origin, but I'm honestly not entirely sure. If that's the case, it'll be 92.5% silver. I'd talk with whoever you bought it from--they should know for certain.

Sterling silver is the name of 92.5% silver alloy. Bali Silver is the name of a silver product. See if there's a 925 mark on the Bali Silver, which is sterling quality. Most silver jewellery items, unless plated, are sterling.

* Sterling silver is 92.5% pure. The balance 7.5% of the alloy is normally copper. Adding copper is to strengthen the metallic properties, because 100% pure silver is too soft for making jewelleries. I have not seen any Bali Silver products so far, and live far from Bali. My experience with silver comes from collecting coins. If the beads say "sterling silver", then they are suppose to be made of 92.5% silver. Sterling silver, if left unattended for a long time would become tarnished with blue-black patina. Silver price is about US$14.60 an ounce at the moment, so to get the metal value of your beads you could weigh the beads in ounces then multiply the weight by 0.925 and then by US$14.60. But also bear in mind that resale value of silver is less, and jewellery items also take into account the workmanship thus higher price.
