Does anyone know of a knitting pattern I can find on-line for a guinea pig coat/dress as my piggie is going bald and I need to keep her warm over winter.

Different weights, cut a hole in the toe of a sock and some of the other end. You can use different colors.

Yes, be sure her baldness isn't the result of a medical condition that needs medicinal treatment.

If she is just plain balding, you can try one of several options. Take the leg off a used pair of infant-sized or toddler-sized sweatpants. The cuff goes over her head, and becomes the collar of her new dress. Cut it to fit, lengthwise, and make holes for her front paws. You can also use the sleeve of a child's sweatshirt for this.

Take a piece of soft fabric, like fleece, and put it on your guinea pig. Draw shaping lines and paw holes on it, and then cut them out. Hold it on her and make sure your cuts are accurate. Before you sew it together, draw this onto paper. There you have your knitting pattern. Knit one of those for her. I did this for our littlest doggie (she's a rescued dog and was so horribly matted when we got her that she had to be shaved) who was shivering and needed a sweater. I drew the pattern out and then knit one. It worked great! She has a little more hair now, but still likes her sweater.

Hi, you may like a picture of a guinea pig in a fancy sweater/dress: http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/?paged=353
(The Knitting Fiend). I can't, at the moment, get into Nearly Hairless Pets but keep trying! Good luck. PastelMaiden

You could convert a woolly hat into a coat for her. You need to cut a hole for her head in the top of it and slits for her front two paws in the main part of the hat. You could get those children's acrylic/fleece hats in the dollar store that are thermal, for warmth. Then let her back two paws stick out of the open end of the hat.

Try googling for a beanie baby pattern. You could probably convert a BB sleeping bag or sweater for her.

I cannot find a pattern yet, but am still looking. I found a place where you can order one, and a darling picture, but that is it so far.

Well if your pig is losing hair that could mean she has mites or another parasite.

She doesn't need a coat, she needs to go to the vet.
