So yea, I'm a 17 year old male which is in need of a hobby... Sports don't interest me, I've already gone through Guitar Hero and DDR, and attempted Origami. So now I'm oftentimes stuck at home dead bored out of my mind.
or something of the like

Anyone have some ideas for a hobby I can take up? Indoor, outdoor, whatever, doesn't matter. Just something entertaining I can enjoy?

I would like to try and make this scarf that I found at Hot Topic:
http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/store/product_zoom_display.jsp?PRODUCT<>prd_id=845524442165965&FOLDER<>folder_id=2534374302028592&bmUID=1194396165891
Product page if picture won't work - http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/store/product.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302028592&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442165965&bmUID=1194396065744
Sorry it's not the greatest picture, but it basically looks like a round (not flat) black knitted scarf (I don't think it has any knitted patterns) with this gauzy white fabric around it. I know how to knit, but would this be something a complete beginner could do?

-How should I go about knitting the scarf?
-It has fringe on the ends...how would I do that?
-What kind of fabric should I use for the white? It says it has a "white nylon overlay" on the product page.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated, but I'm not too familiar with knitting terms. :)

Years ago, nobody cared if you clean coins or not. It just didnt matter. Then the fad came along where you just *had* to clean coins as a coin shop or collector. Then due to some idiots using wire brushes, and acids to deface/clean the coins. Now its become taboo to clean coins. Ive heard some cases where a coin shop almost gets boycotted just for mentioning those two words in the same sentance.

So far I have stuck to using a cotton cloth and distilled water to remove loose debris such as basic mud and in some stupid cases, bubble gum. But I am wanting to know if there is a safe way to get slightly more aggressive. A couple of the local coin shops suggested jewerly cleaning kits such as the "sonic bath" used to clean gold jewlery. Some others suggested something like glass cleaner such as windex.

I would like to know if there are any educated suggestions out there aside from these guesses I get from local people.

I took a beading class a little while ago, and I made a few cute bracelets and necklaces. Recently, though, I don't have any good ideas.

I want to start by making things I see online and in magazines, but my husband says this is just copying and not a good way of sparking my creative side.

What do you think?

My mom found the perfect gift for my aunt but She can't find it.

The way she described it is:

It's a frame with nails sticking out of it.

The nails form a pattern like a duck or a boat.

You use different colored threads (possibly yarn??) and loop it through or around the nails.

The finished product is a colorful (weaved???) picture of the duck, ship, boat etc.

if you know what is is please post the name if you've seen it in a store please post the store anything to find it.

I purchased a crocheting loom from local craft store Hobby Lobby. If you know what I'm talking about, it's purple rectangle loom with maybe 20 pegs on it.
Anyway, I learned one basic criss cross pattern to make scarves and now it's a bit boring. I was wondering if there were any books or websites that have patterns that would be compatible with the loom.

Here's the closest picture I could find. Just imagine it shaped like a rectangle.

I would like some objective opinions. Right now I am making usable crocheted potholders and will try to sell them for $5.99 each which is twice the cost of materials even though it is said that you should ask 4 times the materials. I have been told that I should make dish towels and dish cloths and sell them in sets. The cost would be about the same for each piece which would bring the cost for the set up to roughly 17.98. My pieces are of good quality but I am concerned since they are for use and not decoration that they would not sell. I though maybe making them up and selling them individually but listing in the description and details that there are matching pieces. I would like other peoples opinion.

Just so you will know I am doing this to supplement my income since I lost my job due to illness.
