Well i want to make one of those blankets where you have 2 pieces of cotton material and you cut slits in both sides and then you ties them both together and it makes a cute durable blanket =D
But...

1)I need the material so i need some websites that you can buy THAT kind of cotton from and in LARGE sheets

2)I know how to make the blankets but this will be the first time making one of them and any tips or specific instructions would be appreciated

It is fleece, available in any fabric store. Jo-Anns has a kit - basically it's the two pieces of fleece with all the instructions.

I have not ever seen this doen in Cotton as it would fray badly. I think you are thinking about Fleece...which does not fray when cut and makes a really cute and warm blanket.

You can get the Fleece from Joann's Or a fabric store. Usually fabric comes in 45" material, however fleece may be 60". Just check with someone if you are unsure.

Other than that it is really easy, I would be careful however if using this as a baby gift. We were talking in my Quilt guild and the ladies were talking about hearing about a child who chewed off a knot and choked on it. It may be urban legend but, it may be true too so be careful.

I have never seen them done in cotton, only fleece. They are cute, but can be quite pricey....$8 or more per yard. I don't know if you can find it cheaper than that.
