I bought $75 100% cotton sateen sheets from Bed Bath & Beyond, and after one wash the sateen finish had disappeared even though it said the sheets were machine washable. The sheets are also excessivley wrinkly and I have long hair, so any hair that falls out while I'm sleeping clings to the sheets even after washing. I have really long, thick hair, so there's a lot of hair collecting on the sheets and I have to individually pick them out (gross!). My other polyster-cotton blend sheets don't have the same problem, but I've heard that 100 percent cotton sheets are better (they're certainly more expensive). So what's the deal? Why am I paying more for sheets that hold up worse? Is there a type of cotton I should be looking for? Or should I just stick with the cotton-polyster blend? I don't want to spend a fortune on sheets that will end up having the same problem.

I love to make jewelry. I made these origami earrings but the paper is just like regular paper, and it can't stand up to the elements. What do you think I should do to strengthen the paper after it is folded?

For my daughter's 2nd grade project, we want to build a model of a local (lenticular truss) bridge. What should we use? I would just use popsicle sticks, but they won't bend to make the four long curved beams. Isn't there a soft wood that is easy to use that I could find at the local craft store?

I'm new to card making & have 2 questions I can't find an answer to anywhere.
1) If I create a card using chalk what can I use to seal it with so it doesn't smudge. I've seen cans of aerosol sealant but I don't know what type to get or if it's the right product.
2) There's lots of different types of glue out there, what type is best to use for what material ie card, lace, fabric, glitter?

It's time for me to pick up a new crafting hobby. I would like to begin designing and making beaded/jeweled necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. What tools are must haves and what brands would you reccomend for best quality? I prefer to buy things once and don't mind spending a little extra if it is the only time I will need to purchase the item.

Hey, I'm looking for guns that I can use in movies, that look like the real thing (metal, similiar size, etc.) and was wondering if anyone knew about Australian websites that sold capguns?

I have been to www.capguns.com.au but they only have western guns, which are of no use for my movie. The guns have to be capguns too, so that they make a bang!

This movie will not be shot in public, for those of you who may think I'm gonna go out and get shot down by policeman for using dangerous firearms.

Any links to Australian websites, or even Australian eBay stores that specialize in cap guns would be deeply appreciated.

I went to the breyer website and it said to boil the horse, but it never worked for me. How long are you supposed to boil the horse? are you supposed to sand it first? do you add anything to the water? I see amazing recreations, but I never seem to get it right? also tips on shading and highlighting would be great, how to blend them in with the base coat? I'm stuck doing simple bays, blacks, and whites.
