Hey, I'm looking for guns that I can use in movies, that look like the real thing (metal, similiar size, etc.) and was wondering if anyone knew about Australian websites that sold capguns?

I have been to www.capguns.com.au but they only have western guns, which are of no use for my movie. The guns have to be capguns too, so that they make a bang!

This movie will not be shot in public, for those of you who may think I'm gonna go out and get shot down by policeman for using dangerous firearms.

Any links to Australian websites, or even Australian eBay stores that specialize in cap guns would be deeply appreciated.

Wow... I used to build / own (back in 1980-1984) a number of model-guns as a Theater Props Master.

They were ALL full-scale and done in heavy-plastic, aluminum, steel... they were from a japanese firm, and fired a reverse firing-pin cap round (turned brass and looked like a blank. They looked PERFECT, and made a reasonable Pop-Crack when fired.

I had 4 M-16A2's... they had full clips of these cap/rounds and worked on a 3-round burst or single-shot mode. AMAZING... watching the brass fly !! I also had 2 AK-74's, an UZI and FNL from the same manufacturer.

Sadly, I can't recall the manufacturer... and they are NOW illegal here in CALIFORNIA, and I sold them to a licensed armorer in Los Angeles.

My BEST suggestion would be to contact a movie-Armorer... see if you can rent / lease.

Sorry to have no Australia-specific infomation. Good luck and drink an EMU for me !!

UPDATE: Try this website... not sure of shipping to AU. http://replicagunsswords.com/

i don't know about cap guns, but you could try airsoft guns if you run out of other options. they come in a wide varieties of models and the CO2 guns make a mediocre bang
