I understand the #16 is for heavy material (such as denim). What is the #100 for and where do I find it on the package of needles? Also..do I have to know a certain kind/type needles that a "Brother Sewing Machine" uses? Does the needle package state which machines it can be used on?

When I find I have spare time, I really want to have a hobby (like now). Is there a good, inexpensive, artistic hobby that doesn't need too much time at once out into it out there? Maybe a building project...

I volunteer to teach arts and crafts for senior citizens. We've made baskets of over two years. Tin Can Scare Crows, Sun Diffusers, and a few other odd projects.

They seem to be happy making baskets, but I'm growing tired and broke doing this. I really need some new ideas. They have other classes in sewing, languages, quilt making. I'm just looking for different crafts. Painting is out. Doing or making with a knife is out.

Please, if you have any suggestions, post them here!

I just started knitting and am trying to make a sweater. I have gotten to the shoulder shaping and am confused at what to do next. The body of the back is 82 stitches across, and it says to bind off 9, work across 46 stitches, and do that again 3 more times. If I do that though, I end up with an uneven shirt it seems. I did the first binding of 9 and worked across 46 and I still have 28 stitches left on that row, so how do I do the next row? Thanks!

I'm putting t-shirts on both sides of my quilt. I need a border, and I need 2-3 inches of material between all the t-shirts. I was wondering if anyone out there knew if I should use cotton or some other kind of material. Most of my t-shirts are cotton and we had to put a backing on the t-shirts. That's why I wasn't sure if I should use cotton material or how that works. Any ideas?

Ok, so my daughter's school is having a snowman building contest. It can't be taller then 12 inches. (Not with real snow, crafts) We had it all set to do an edible one (Make the body using ball shaped rice crispy treats, then paint it with white chocolate. Fruit strips for a scarf, chocolate chips for the eyes, etc..) Anyhow, now she wants to do a beach themed snowman! I am at a blank, any craft people have any ideas?? Thanks in advance.
