I've just discovered the magic of warm Hide Glue and it's wonderful ability to stiffen thin white Japanese paper. The only problem is that it is brownish yellow in color. I have successfully found additives that will lighten it to an oatmeal color but that's about it. I have tried white pigments, plaster of paris, soda, allum, arrow root, and peroxide but those weaken the glue or make my thin paper look opaque and plastic. I want to retain the natural feel and look of the paper. Does anyone know if Hide Glue comes in white? I thank you in advance for your input.
