I've just discovered the magic of warm Hide Glue and it's wonderful ability to stiffen thin white Japanese paper. The only problem is that it is brownish yellow in color. I have successfully found additives that will lighten it to an oatmeal color but that's about it. I have tried white pigments, plaster of paris, soda, allum, arrow root, and peroxide but those weaken the glue or make my thin paper look opaque and plastic. I want to retain the natural feel and look of the paper. Does anyone know if Hide Glue comes in white? I thank you in advance for your input.

I don't know anything about this product, so I'm sure I probably won't be of much help, but have you checked with the Tandy Leather Company? Maybe someone at one of there stores could help you.I'm curious to know the answer myself. This seems like a very interesting project. Hope they can help.
