Scrapbooking, it is a major popular thing and you are sure to find people you know who are also into in. It can be as inexpensive or expensive as you want. Lots of websites have page ideas. It is something that can be about anything and is a great way to display your photos.
Hope that helps?

I collect flowers, twigs and weeds and press them in phone books which work every bit as well as a flower press. I use them on Japanese lanterns, luminaries and lampshades that I make with handmade paper. The paper is fairly inexpensive and most of the flowers are growing right outside. It will give you a chance to get to know the natural wonders of your neighborhood and probably meet some really nice people while you're at it. The luminaries give off beautiful ambient light with a candle glowing in the center. Give it a try...I dry my own pansies, buttercups, ferns, lavender, statice, lace leaf maple, dogwood, delphinium, daisies (all colors) azaleas, rhodies etc. You just wont even believe how well they dry using just a phone book. When ready, store the flowers in a box (no lids) at room temperature in a dark closet so they don't fade. There are many How To Books for making paper luminaries and lanterns out there. They make beautiful gifts.

Ah ha... well you always could try out Dance Dance Revolution. I thought that I wouldn't like it at first, but when I did, it was super fun. Now I play it all the time. It's really fun, after you build enough skill to play Expert or Heavy difficulty. If you do decide to try it, be patient playing through the easier difficulties and it will be fun in no time.

Try autograph collecting. It only takes a little bit of time, it generally does not take up much room, and you can actually make money from it if you want to go that way. You can also compete with your friends to see who can get the hardest to get, or most popular, or whatever. Good luck.

Try knitting. Not too expensive, portable, and there's a great website with videos--I think it's knittinghelp.com, but not positive--that can teach you just as well as a book (and sometimes better--bits of it are hard to follow unless you see them in action). Plus the basic knit stitch is very easy to learn, so you can be up and knitting in no time.

If you like taking pictures you could take up SCRAPBOOKING. My aunt got me into it and I love it! There are even conferences you can go to I'm actually going to one this year. It's really not that expensive either. You can get most scrapbooking things at Walmart.
