Looking for advice on how to make a parol lantern as well as on advice where to buy the materials (do regular arts and crafts stores sell the bamboo?).

I've already found some instructions from myparol.com, but unfortunately they don't specify the size/length of the material used to make a parol...and doesn't give much detail around how to decorate it.

...or needing to weave in every color change? I'm planning on doing intarsia but I wanted to see if there's anything I should know before I start. For example, since my pattern is pretty much a blue circle in the center of black, I'll need to have 2 hanging balls of black on either side so I don't have long strings of black yarn going across the circle in the back of the work. And I also don't want to do the method that carries both yarns along - too much yarn would be wasted.

I recently got a quarter dollar that just did seem right. at first when i got it i realized that it didn't sound like the rest of my change or have the same weight as a usual quarter but looking at it, it didn't seem any different from any other quarter. I was going to give it back to that chaser when i found it but figured that it would be hard to make a fake quarter so maybe the US mint made a error.

I have a small handfull of beautiful small and tiny coloured shells I collected from the beach last weekend. Should I keep them in jar, should I keep them in water, should I sterilise or treat them in any way?

What accessory can I knit with baby blue eyelash yarn? I was looking for something to knit in a week or even a weekend (I've only been knitting for a couple of months, so it takes me a long time to knit bigger things, like a looong scarf). Thankx!!!

They are stackable (by screwing together) plastic containers that are suitable for small craft items eg. beads. They are of Taiwanese or China origin. I have purchased them in Australia at a discount place called "The Warehouse" and have seen them on craft/scrapbooking sites in USA
