The coin has a dealer bid of $1.90 in Mint state. Only the 1972-S proofs ( brown box ) or Uncirculated ( blue envelope) have any real value for they are 40% silver, also type III coin has value. There are 3 varieties of 1972 Ike's. Type one has low relief with flattened world and 3 islands off Florida this one is common. Type II high relief with round world and weak or indistinct islands this is the rare one. Type III Improved high relief dies used on reverse, but coin like variety I. You need to have a variety collector help you out. The 1972-D just has to many minted 95,548,511 hope this helps some.

Depends on the condition, get a coin book,or look it up on google,or try eBay and search for what you are looking for and see what they are selling for .
