I love making candles and soap but I can't seem to find a supply store near me (it's rather expensive to ship wax and soap bases). Does anyone know of one that sells more than a plain melt & pour glycerine soap base?

I recieved a pair of silver leather gloves for my birthday. They fit wonderfully and are great driving gloves, but the color is hideous--everytime I wear them I feel like I look like a robot! Is there an easy way for me to dye over the silver and turn the gloves black or brown instead? Anything other than silver would do (other than gold or polka dot!). I have never dyed leather so I am pretty much a novice at this whole thing. Any advice would be appreciated!

I love crocheting. I absolutely love it. In fact, I just don't think I can live without it. But I'm having problems lately. I made a hat, made sure the gague matched perfectly, and followed the directions exactly; the hat came out waaaay too big. I made an amigurumi mushroom the other night, and while it came out really cute, it looks nothing like the pattern. Again, I followed the directions exactly. Is it me, or is it the patterns? Are there any books I can look into that will give me good tips?

I have found a few that were a bit busty, but only one ( a pre-made mermaid) that had decent buttocks and not the standard flat Barbie butt.

I'm looking for the name of this sewing. It's like quilting but they are only 2 inch in diameter circles sewn together by the edge of 4 equally spaced sides and put together like a lacy patched quilt work. I hope this made any sense to some of you. The "circles" are multi-coloured and once put together it has a vintage-like appearance.

If you know the name of this craft, please let me know and also tell me where on the web I can learn how to make them.
