Do you mean Patent? If so, there are a few people out there that if they like your idea, will actually fund it. (kind of like a sponsor) Just be VERY careful! There are also even more out there that would rather steal your idea and call it thier own. First think of someone you know and you trust, talk to them about it, and ask thier opinion. they may even recomend you to someone else that could help.

An idea pattern can be sketched out on plain paper. Fullscap (the lined paper for school), printer paper, a napkin! You could even draw it out on thin cardboard, card stock... Depending on what it is you are making!!! Your question is not clear to me, but I hope this helps you! :o)
