I have found a few that were a bit busty, but only one ( a pre-made mermaid) that had decent buttocks and not the standard flat Barbie butt.

There are matronly dolls out there, but they are certainly not the common thing. I would check The Toy Shoppe, which has a big on-line store. They have great customer service people, and you can explain what you are looking for if you do not find it on their web page.

If you really want a one of a kind, why not commission it? There are some terrific doll makers out there who will do commissioned work for reasonable (not cheap, of course) prices. They could even do a portrait of your favorite grande dame.

Franklin Mint did one or more Mae West dolls, as I recall. I think I saw a one-of-a-kind Sophie Tucker doll a few years back. If anyone comes across a Cass Elliott, let me know; she was practically my twin when I was younger!

There was also -- may still be, for all I know -- a doll named Emma or something like that, which was a portrait of a famous plus size model. I think that was done by Robert Tonner a few years ago. Problem is, plus size models are not actually all that big, unless you stand them beside Barbie dolls.
