Sorry about the bad spelling, but I love eating this broiling hot tofu soup and all the accompanying side dishes. Any recipes on how to try making this soup at home?

Recently my family took a trip to New York City. We bought a whole chicken from this Greek take-out place that was located near one of the many parking garages. It came with this wonderful soft flat bread and a cold tomato sauce that was like simple pureed tomatoes with a couple simple spices in it. Does anyone know exactlly what sort of ingredients were probably in this recipe and how I may be able to duplicate a similar cooked chicken at home? It was almost a sort of mild smokey flavor in the chicken itself.

My friend and I were arguing that about syrup sandwiches. If you grew up in the hood, you probably had one. I grew up on the Southside of Chicago, and I have eaten them. let me know what you all think.

How many of you put raisins and brown sugar in your picadillo? I was looking at a few recipes @ recipezaar.com to make sure I had everything I needed ( I am forever forgetting something) and was disturbed to see some of the additions people make. Others included almonds, scallion, vinegar and apples. And they claimed to be authentic?? I've never seen a Cuban put any of that junk in there. I think I'm going to call my grandmother, she's going to have a heart attack!
