I asked this ? before but it was late so I am hoping to get more traffic on it now. Anyway, I am an aspiring cook book author. I made a website just to see how it would turn out and what people would think. Would you PLEASE go look at it, leave me comments and also tell me on here what you like an dont and what needs to be changed or added. Also, if you look on the ride side u can click on a video and listen while ur browsing. I APPRECIATE all the great cooks out there so PLEASE. Thanks...

I think John Besh will win. He is confident, composed under stress, very graceful and he has the experience. Never seems frazzled, he seems just like Flay, Batali & Morimoto.

my mom's boyfriend's mom makes this recipe she calls beef stew... it's some sort of beef, potatoes, carrots, and onions in some sort of gravy/sauce kinda.

she puts some sort of spice in it... it's almost spicy... but not to the point where it burns your mouth. it's just got this kind of kick to it. it doesn't really taste like chili powder... i don't know if it's curry powder... but i thought maybe. but i cook with that sometimes. anybody have any suggestions for what spice she used in this recipe?? she's from the phillipines... if that helps any.

my best friend makes something similar and she calls it pot roast... but she doesn't use that spice. hers just tastes like meat and vegetables.

The sauce made in America is a hearty, thick, spicy, tomato sauce which is often spread liberally over spaghetti with either meatballs or Italian sausage.

I'm also thinking of Italian-American style dishes such as ravioli, lasagna, and thick crust pizza with cheese and peperonni.

Most of Europe has a thing called spaghetti bolagnase, which really isn't like the old American style spaghetti and meatballs. Spaghetti Bolagnase reminds me more of spaghetti in a watery marinara sauce.

Where in Italy would you find the think, zesty, red sauce most Italian-Americans would be more familliar with?
