Please don't answer with obvious things that everyone knows (i.e. pool party, bowling, skating, dance, etc.). I've already thought of those (and done some of them), but I'm looking for something fun and original.

My husband and I are having an anniversary party in a few weeks, and we have invited about 25 people. A couple of those invited may bring girlfriends who are underage, not by much, but yet still underage.

While it won't be an issue to be sure they aren't drinking, should we just avoid serving wine or champagne altogether? I don't really want anyone to have to be policing the party.

On a side note, when we were getting married, my in-laws offered to host our rehearsal dinner, but wouldn't allow alcohol. We ended up having it at a restaurant instead. They gave us a similar option for our engagement party, but we wanted a wine & cheese party, so we had it at my matron of honor's home instead.

What are your thoughts? It's not as if anyone is going to get sloshed, but I would really like to toast to my anniversary with a glass of wine or champagne.

My husband is getting out the Navy this month after serving for 10 years. He's not "retiring" per se, just getting his honorable discharge. I'm planning a surprise party for him and need game/ party ideas. It will be held at a local bar/ diner with karaoke and an outdoor pavilion. Thanks!

At about 2 o´clock today, I asked a friend over for dinner tonight because I made a pot of chili-my husband is out of town, and I didn´t want any leftovers.

At 7:15 I ate, and she called me at 8 and said she was coming over. I asked her if she had eaten and would she like chili, and she said, "oh, I can take it to work tomorrow," to which I replied, "well, you can eat here tonight," and she said,"I already went out with my boyfriend for dinner," so I told her I was going to stick the chili in the freezer for my husband and I to eat another time.

Did I do the right thing-I mean, my house is not a carry out restaurant, or am I stingy?
