Wait until the baby is a year. What is with the 6 month old birthday party?
If your apartment is too small, use the place of a friend. That's what we did and everything went very well.

A friend of ours does this for her daughter, whose birthday is on Christmas. I feel it's appropriate in this case, because the reasoning behind it is sincere. They simply don't want to put people out by asking them to spend extra at Christmas, and they don't want their daughter to be shafted for life by getting combo birthday/Christmas gifts. They do not have a big party around Christmas for her, so it's not like I'm celebrating her birth, and buying gifts twice a year. The only reason I am suggesting that this may be there motive is because it is June, and 6 months away from Christmas! If this is NOT the reason for the birthday party, then I think they're being kind of selfish! I hope they don't expect you to buy two gifts a year!

I have NEVER heard of anyone having a 6 month birthday party ! Are you also planning a 7 month, 8 month, 9 monthe party ? Anyway although I think it's a crazy idea, how about a few baby bottles of milk, a few bowls of mashed baby food and a few rusks !

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. Believe me you are going to see questions on here about people asking how nuts this sounds, do they need to bring a gift, do they have to go, etc. Is the baby going to get a 1 1/2 year old party too?

I mean its not the childs Birthday, but if you really want to throw a party, just buy the baby a small cake/cupcake and write something like "Happy 6 months!!" Make sure you take pictures because I highly doubt this baby will remember his/her 6months party!! Heck they dont even remember their first 2years!!

You can start the birthday with 6 more months of planning. Birthdays are celebrated YEARLY in this country. You've got plenty of time to plan the 1ST. YEARS party.

Your having a birthday for a 6month old? Well since this little person wont remember it and you can't be too loud. How about you and your significant other just make cup cakes and watch a movie. Take pictures and call it a night. If your doing it just so you have a reason to get even more stuff out of your friends and family. Then just have everyone get together..cook dinner...converse then have them leave...oh and take pictures.

Whenever one of my friends has a birthday party for one of their really young kids it really just an excuse to have a party for us we just all drink and have fun. And I really don't see anything wrong with it. My point is the child is really too young to really remember anything, so at this point don't worry about it the party is for the parents cause the child is not going to remember it anyways.
