This is a serious question. How does one go about buying birthday cakes or cakes in general made to look like private parts. It is going to be a gag joke for a friend of mine but how does one go about looking for where to pick this up? is there customized bakers out there that do this?

I am hosting between 25-30 MEN for my husband's 40th birthday... MEN - what would you want to see on the menu? I would like to do more than just pretzels & the regular stuff but know that finger sandwiches would not go over!

We were invited to a Halloween party that a friend of my husband and his girlfriend are having at their house. We never see or hang out with these people so I was kind of shocked we got an invite, but I digress. So,on the invite it tells me what type of alcohol I am supposed to bring...it says I am assigned to bring that. First of all, don't people get to rsvp? It sort of assumed we would be there and that we'd bring some expensive vodka. We don't even drink so what makes these wack-jobs think I'm going to buy a $30 bottle of vodka and come to their, obviously centered around drinking, party? I guess I should call and say we won't be making it? Is this weird or normal behavior for parties? and they know we are not drinkers by the way. We've known this guy since high school, my husband and I are 23 and have a 2 year old son...we married as high school sweethearts 3 years ago (for a little background).

Also - we want to have chicken wings ("bat wings") can I dye the sauce black somehow? Is there black food coloring??

Were throwing another pot luck at work.. and at our past ones, i always stick to the rules of the pot luck... make something tasteful, and filling and enough for everyone... im the only guy in a department of girls, and the girls i work with are SOOOOOO CHEAP... they all opt for the desert. "cupcakes, brownies..ect" and they dont make them...they just buy the 3 dollar assortments at albertsons..while i spend 50 dollars and a whole night making enchilada casserole.... so were having another pot luck... and i dont want to bring anything expensive this time... its a sandwich theme, what should i bring?

Food is on the table and one of your guests has only bread on their plate. When asked, they politely say they don't eat meat and are allergic to anything with dairy. Most of your food has butter/milk and meat, except the carrots and celery sticks on the side(which come with a dairy type dip).

How would you feel as a host/ess and what would you say to them?

OK guys, going over a friends to see the Jets - Giants game on Sunday, big get together as he's a massive Jets fan living in Atlanta now and I need some ideas of a snack/appetizer to take over (please don't say beer and chips n dip got those covered already), his wife always does a good spread, but still want to take something easy to make and eat over. Anyone got some good recipes?

We will be asking other parents to bring food, drinks, supplies. I just have no clue how to estimate the amount of food, etc. to ask for. Teachers will be having their staff meetings during this time, so buffet style has been used in the past and we'll continue that this year. The theme of the luncheon will vary during the year, so if you have some good ideas, please share. We we're thinking about a baked potato bar and sundae bar too since these haven't been done before.

Thanks in advance,
AVM

We are having a Halloween/Birthday bash the Saturday after Halloween. I need some suggestions for food, drinks and games. Feel free to yay or nay my ideas below too.

I'm already thinking:
Orange jello shots
Kitty litter cake (I have a halloween cat to place nearby)
Pumpkin spice liquor
Bobbing for apples (1st one prize, most prize and special marked prize)
Mini pumpkin hunt (most prize and special marked prize)
Pumpkin pass (like hot potato, no hands)
Punch with fake bugs

I want to keep it mostly Halloween/orange & black themed! I really need a main course and appetizers. Also need some mixed drink ideas. Maybe some more games.

Thanks for any help.

I am looking to open a club that will feature live music six nights a week. Serving liquor opens a whole host of issues. I would start out with beer, a decent variety, and see how it goes at first but would the absence of liquor related drinks keep you away? My thinking is that this is not just a bar but a music hall type of establishment.

Im having a get together with people from work to celebrate my 21st (which was actually a week ago). My fiancee and I Just split and he moved out, so I have half the furniture I used to, but Im trying to make do. I dont have an exact number of people that are coming, it could be anywhere from 5 people to 25.. I dont have a bunch of money to spend on alcohol, but Im willing to spend what I need to.
Suggetions on what to buy?
What drinking games to play?
Do i need anything besides alcohol, some munchies, music, good lighting, and friends?

Any suggestions, drinking game rules, websites, etc are appreciated.

Im even thinking of making him dinner instead. But if I do, what should I cook him? Where should I take him or what should I do?

My parents are coming into town and I'm making a new egg dish--it's eggs, bacon, cheese, and bagels baked with some other random ingredients. I've never cooked for them before (I have for others, just not my parents) and want to make things look good for them. I will probably make a fruit salad, but what else would be a good side?

A lot of them are Normal Rockwell style plates. I am pretty sure they are all china. I know they will need to be handwashed. I love the look of putting them together with other types of dishware for place settings, but I am worried that they will have harmful chemicals (lead, etc) in them. I have tried to look up the answer, but it seems not a lot of people do this!

Does anybody have any experience??

Five women surprising a friend for her birthday while on a cabin retreat (which happens to coincide with her 57th birthday). Came up with a "Heinz 57" theme, spinning off the idea of bringing all our leftover decorations from previous parties (low budget!). Doing "cheeseburgers in paradise" (I like mine with Heinz 57...) and margeritas for the menu. Looking for other ideas to bring the theme to the forefront. Any suggestions from you creative types out there???
