I'm throwing a party and have no clue who to invite. Obviously I can't ask you people (LoL) - But I still have a question. I have these people that I'm not close with, their just friends of a friend. Should I still invite them even though I don't particularly like them/know them?

My girlfriend and I are finally getting some quality time together. (both have kids from previous marriage). She is from Uzbekistan and still getting familiar with American eating (not that that is a good thing). I want to prepare a home cooked meal that will be romantic. I, however, have not cooked a good meal in years. I need meal ideas and tips. The dish doesnt have to be "american". I just really want romantic.
Thanks to everyone!

Hi all, I am about to hire this chef to bake a baby shower cake for my friend's shower but I'm not sure if $50 is too much or not? The chef will deliver the cake to the party which is in the same city, the cake will serve 20 people and it's just a basic cake with pregnant belly on it. So is $50 a reasonable price for such an easy cake with just a fondant made belly and dress?

Last year we only gave gift cards out to those who danced, which was great because it got everyone to dance. However, I'd like to do something new and different this year. Any ideas? Even just for ice breaker games.

I'm having a party for about 30 people, during the afternoon. I'm going to order trays of food but I'm not sure how much to order. I plan on some cold cut platters, bread, rolls and some hot dishes. I'm not sure how much of each thing I should order and how I should order it - full tray/half tray, per pound, etc.

Last year we did this and it seemed everyone sat with their own department and no one got to know anyone from other departments. This year we wanted to make sure it gets mixed up so we decided to do something like make each table a different reindeer and let the guest draw a reindeer at the door when they come in....Anyone have any other funny ideas?

I am planning on inviting about 15 or so people to my house for the party. Any ideas/suggestions on food I should serve and entertainment? I would love to have a theme and stick w/ it. I was thinking of doing a "grim reaper" party and serving "Witch's Brew" in a cauldron w/ dry ice, etc. I would LOVE your suggestions!
