Last year we did this and it seemed everyone sat with their own department and no one got to know anyone from other departments. This year we wanted to make sure it gets mixed up so we decided to do something like make each table a different reindeer and let the guest draw a reindeer at the door when they come in....Anyone have any other funny ideas?

The easiest way to do it is..The first 10 people that come in are told to go to table 1. The 11th, 12th, 13th, through the 20th, are told to go to table 2. You are assigned a table in the order you come to the door of the party. Don't mention this to the people until that night. That way they all won't be coming together in one group.

How about each table represents a different Snowflake, not Reindeer? that could give you more options and space. Plus you could design the snowflakes any way you wanted.

we've a large kin reunion/Christmas occasion each year with approximately 50 human beings & have a blast!! hire a karaoke gadget & permit all and sundry teach their hidden expertise! additionally, you ought to play "chinese language Christmas" - set a decrease ( we use $10.00 ) & each and each focused visitor convey a latest ( fleece throws, flashlights, candles, bathtub & physique creams, etc.) all and sundry attracts an outstanding decision & is going in turn ( a million, 2, 3, etc.) choosing an unopened present. After beginning what present they chosen the guy can the two save the marvel or commerce it to somebody who has long previous in the past them. on the very end, # a million gets to chosen whether to maintain what they first ended up with or %. from something that has been won. it is so humorous to observe grown men combat over methods, or maybe though has been desperate using fact the "superb" merchandise......That way noone gets indignant by way of something too risque.......have relaxing!!

Give each table a different theme...
One can be ice: centerpiece of white roses in tall vase with plastic ice cubes at bottom, plastic ice sicles scattered on table, icey blue sheer table cloth over white, ice cube name holders
One Snow flake table: centerpiece of blue thimble flower or blue hydrangea, tiny plastic snowflakes at bottom of the vase, glittery snow confetti from center of the table branched out to form a star (snowflake) design, snowman name holder
One santa table: red rose centerpiece, santa claus confetti, alternating lump of coal and santa bag name holders or south pole name holders
Rein deer table...
etc.

Give employees invitations that coordinate to their tables, that way you know who you're putting where from the beginning and you're sure the teams are split up.

Or when they come for the party, give them a picture frame or small gift that coordinates to their table... and let them know it corilates to their table.

Or have them be escorted by the weight staff to their table, where they have their name plates. Any way you do it, you're sure to mix up the departments :)

Play competitive team building games! Tape a question to the bottom of each chair/table. Number them. Each table gets the same questions... make it a scramble to get the answer to each question! They can open question #2 when question #1 has a winner!
Give a different silly prize for each question. One winner gets an extreme cubicle makeover...
One gets a weeks supply of chocolate...
one gets a gift box of rainbow desk supplies... pens, post its, tacks, highlighters etc...
etc...
The last question should be something related to the boss and the winner gets lunch or plays golf with him/her... or he/she gets to be their assistant for half a day.

You can get the whole party together after dinner with a dance contest! Michael jackson, chicken dance, hokey pokey, roll out the barrell, jingle house rock... etc.
The winner gets the "twinkle toes award" a little ballerina trophy or something :)
Have fun! :)
Have fun!

Make sure couples stay together. There is nothing worse than to go to your spouse's company party and not know anyone there. Not all people have outgoing personalities and are able to talk to strangers. :o)

I actually think your idea is great! Would suggest that couples are able to stay together and perhaps name tags with persons name and department, otherwise sounds like it would be fun.
