I am looking to open a club that will feature live music six nights a week. Serving liquor opens a whole host of issues. I would start out with beer, a decent variety, and see how it goes at first but would the absence of liquor related drinks keep you away? My thinking is that this is not just a bar but a music hall type of establishment.

Beer is great, but what about the women? I personally love beer, but most of my friends don't, maybe you could try selling cider too? or pale ale such as Hoegaarden or Leffe which is much more girl friendly.
As long as everyone has a drink then you'll be fine!

Yes, beer and wine bars can be alot of fun. You can have different themed nights like jazz and blues, open mic night, local bands, Dart boards are cool in these types of bars as well.
Good Luck!

music venues will do fine with just beer...a lot of band going people drink beers and redbulls, not any fancy drinks.

I personally would rather go to a club/bar/venue thing that's dry..drunk people are irritating.

Sounds fine to me. You could even make a feature of it by stocking unusual beers from around the world.

that's good you don't have worry about to much fighting because they wont be that drunk but that a good start for now then slowly bring in the hard liquor lite bit at a time not all at once and then that should bring more costumer to the bar

No, unless you are looking to attract men and not many women. You need to serve something other than beer.
