Last year we had a stew inside a pumpkin, "finger" cookies, spider cupcakes, and chips/dip. I want to do something besides a stew for the main dish...then just some fun treats and snacks...any good ideas???
Also - we want to have chicken wings ("bat wings") can I dye the sauce black somehow? Is there black food coloring??

Halloween Party for Adults
You might want to limit it to finger food to make it easier for guests to handle, especially if it's a costume party.
* Plan Halloween-themed decorations. Use paper plates, napkins and cups to make clean up easier.

Bloody Eyeballs on the Rocks
12 radishes
7 ounces olives -- pimento-stuffed

Prepare these bloody eyeballs the day before your plan to serve them.
Peel radishes, leaving thin streaks of red skin on them for blood vessels. Using the tip of the vegetable peeler or a small, knife, carefully scoop out a small hole in each radish.
Stuff a green olive, pimento side out, in each hole. Place 1 radish eyeball in each section of an empty ice cube tray. You may need to pare your eyeballs down a bit to fit.
Fill the tray with water and freeze overnight.
Pour tall glasses 3/4 full of tomato juice and add a pair of eyeballs to each glass.

I like the idea of meatballs because you can label them "eyes in blood" or something . . . and you can do it easily. Buy a couple of bags of frozen mini meatballs and put them in a crock pot with - no kidding - a whole bottle of ketchup and a 2 litre bottle of ginger ale. I think you have to cook it about 6 hours or something but the liquids reduce into a glaze and the meat cooks in that. It sounds mad, but it's good.
Also, when I was a kid, we froze juice in a plastic glove and then peeled off the plastic once it was frozen and put it in the punch bowl . . . use a darker juice for the "hand" and a lighter juice for the punch to make it show up OK.

Swedish meatballs are always yummy but it would take lots of time and patience to make enough for that many people.
How about chili? That's a great dish for alot of people, and most people like it.

You can make black food coloringby mixing other colors correctly. and maybe have a cauldren with punch in it and have dry ice in it so it acts like witches brew. i did this for a halloween party i had. it was a real hit.
